I read an article on the net where a pet owners dog died and she loved it so, she spent lots of money to have it cloned. I saw the pet that died picture and the cloned picture of the animal & it was amazing how much they looked alike, but is this right? I lost my sweet Shih-tzu Precious 2 months ago at age 13. I would love to have her back young and healthy but I know that is not possible. I did buy another one the same color as she was which was black and white, but this one is a boy. I love him dearly, but he can never take the place of my Precious. I have also read that cloned animals have problems down the line like that sheep dolly that died at around 2 years old. I do think cloning is wrong. What do you think?

Even if they look exactly the same, they are not the same animal. It is the way they are raised that makes them the way they are. Even if you love them the same and take care of them the same, you are older and don't do the exact same thing. I think cloning is not the answer for people who want the same pet. I think each animal is special in its own way and you should learn to love it because it is unique and different. Just my opinion.

I think cloning pets is a bad use of the potentially incredible benefits of cloning. Cloning should be used to develop organs and replacement cells for use in teh medical field. People who think they can clone their pet and it will be the same are in for a surprise. An animal's disposition and behaviour are a result of it's genes PLUS it's environment. It will grow up differently and it will not be the same animal. And yes, there are numerous health concerns that are not fully understood.

Hey don't even go there....Star Wars already had the clone wars...You'll get sued for copy rights.

But I hears ya...Cloning a deceased animal will never really be the same as the first/original, the clone will never be able to experience the same things in life therefore will not be able to have the same personality.

I agree with you, cloning is wrong, it goes against every natural law.

I would love to be able to have my favourite old dog back...but just because they would look exactly the same doesn't necessarily mean they would act the same.

cloning is definately wrong. If God had intened two of us or two of anything he would have made it so everything would have twins or triplets!! Messing with mother nature is wrong.
