I do care. And if I see that I'm being racist I do everything in my power to stop it. I don't think it's so much a race issue for me as it is an issue of the behavior of certain groups within the various races. If I see a group of young black men walking down the street with their pants sagging and doing that little walk they do so much and looking like the rest of the world can go to h*ll, yes, I'm going to lock my doors. If that's racist, I'm sorry but that's just human instinct. I would do the same if the group were made up of any other race of people acting in the same manner.
Other than that, I do pay attention to my behavior, and if I see myself thinking a racist thought, I quickly correct myself. I was raised in the South and intend to be much more loving than some of my ancestors have been. I've had friends of several different races, and I loved them all equally.

I submit that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with racism. I'm white. My friend is black. My other friend is Korean. By definition, I am being racist by making this distinction, even though I haven't said anything offensive to anyone.
The problems begin when people discriminate based on race. This is called racial discrimination. This also includes affirmative action. No one ought to receive special benefits based solely on race.
So, no. I don't mind being racist. I love all my brothers and I love that they are white, black, asian, eskimo, etc... It makes this world a great place to live in.

Racism is just a form of prejudice and 99.99% of people I have met in this world are prejudice in at least one way but usually more. If your older think about walking in the mall and seeing some punk kid with his hair all mo-hawked out with a black shirt tucked in his black pants that are embraced by a black belt. Not to mention the good ole wallet chain that dangles all the way down to the ground and the unsociable look on his face with the black lipstick and all. The moment you see him a negative message pops into your brain. That is where the word prejudice comes from (to judge one prematurely). I am prejudice and I catch myself all the time. Like when I mention my friend John as my "black" friend. Did I have to say black? No, I didn't. I must prejudge black people subconsciously along with everyone else that is not exactly like me. I remember when I had no prejudice. I was about five. We pick it up from our environment. Now that its in me I just laugh at it. I'm a cracker and I know it.

I think everyone has alittle racist in them. The ones screaming racism the loudest are usuually the most racist.... they can't just get on with they're life and the reality of the world...they have to blame everyone else for their problems.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong, but I'm not.

Yes I do, if I should say something racist. My father is extremely racist and I have tried to raise my family to be open minded and accepting of everyone, regardless. My daughter is bi-racial so if I slip and say something racist, it bugs the hell out of me.

i try my best not to be. I'm more than willing to be friends with anyone regardless of race. but what about when i (a white woman) walks into a gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes and the person behind the counter (I'm not sure but i think he is Mexican?) won't sell me any but they will to the person of any other race that's behind me? is that not also being racist? I'm friendly to everyone no matter what. my boss is Mexican but i like her and we get along great. not everyone is racist but I'm sorry that you have been treated badly by people who are.

No because I know that everyone is racist towards me too, so it does not matter anymore. Sometimes it matters, but a lot of times, I just say "whatever" and get on with my life.
