Rats would be alot more cuddly and you can train them to come by name and do cool tricks. You can also take rats for walks on a harness. Guinea pigs are timind and prefer to be left alone more than a rat. A rat would look forward to playing with you. A male rat would be cuddly and lazy whereas a a female would like to do tricks run around and play. Whatever you decide i hope you enjoy your pet.

if you truly want a playful pet, a female rat would be best. they are quite active and a lot of fun. a playful pet that will be a little calmer - a male rat. but, if you want a cuddly pet that doesn't 'play' then I suggest a guinea pig. rats are slightly cheaper than guinea pigs. see, when you want to play, guinea pigs are bad, and when you want to cuddle, female rats are bad. I think a male rat (though it still isn't the most cuddly) will be the best choice.

I would say rats, if you got rats you need two as they like company. I've had both animals before and prefer rats as they love to cuddle, do tricks and always wanting to see you when you walk in the room. Guinea pigs are absolutely lovely but they are quite nervous animals, even in the pet shop you can just watch them and any sudden noise etc will usually make them jump haha, in my experience, my guinea pig was quite jumpy and was quite vocal but then again, they do make lovely pets to have on your lap and just pet them as they stay pretty calm on your lap. They are both pretty cuddly animals but rats are more fun as they will climb in your hoodie, on your shoulder etc. Both rarely bite as long as you give them lots of attention.

Why not both :) I have a 2year old rat, Rudy, they are more trainable than guinea pigs but guinea pigs are cuter, i have two of those. Guinea pigs require a bigger cage than rats though you can go all out with either. If they are both tiny babies and you get one of each species you might even be able to house them together, they are both tolerant. In short, rats need less space, eat less, and are smarter.

actually rats are a lot friendlier than guinea pigs and hamster. You can snuggle them, and they like being held, and petted. The guinea pigs and hamster I've owned did not like to be handled very much, and were very nervous, and would get moody if I handled them too much. I would go for a rat.

I've had both and I would recommend a guinea pig. They're more interesting. They make cool little sounds. But in any case, both will sh*t all over you.
