What happened to the Kurdish leaders in Northern Iraq who supported the US invasion?

I thought at one time they were supposed to make it south to attend meetings to set up a Kurdish Homeland in return for their support.

They seem to be happy to co-exist within a federal Iraq. No news is good news in this case. The US walks a fine line here as Turkey is a NATO ally.
