well, some are just aggressive and tend to take it out on people that truly don't deserve that kind of treatment. But let me tell ya, there are some real nuts out there that have got to be harsh on, some people can be cruel and not think twice of killing a police officer just for a moving violation.

Not all police are cruel, violent and abusive. Some police become harden by experiences with cruel, violent and abusive citizens they encounter on a day to day basis. Also police have to think about the situation they are in also, and if the person is cussing and mouthing off and etc....
I would not want to be a cop. They try to protect us, but it's hard when people are not willing to help the cops to try and protect them.
I grew up around cops, and I've heard all kinds of story's, some good, some bad, some sad. Cops don't exactly have it easy. Just like in every profession there are some that should get out and find a different line of work. Sometimes the lines become blurred. You deal with people daily who tell you the same ole stuff and you know it's a lie.
I don't really know your situation. But, not all cops are cruel, violent and abusive. You could say that about the ladies at the DMV or some people in the medical field.

Not all cops are like that, you have to take into consideration of the people we deal with on a daily basis, for every good person there is 5 worst ones. Ever had to pat down a crackhead, and worry about get stuck with a needle? Some neighborhoods are good, and some are ****, the people don't care if you live or die.
And there are 3 sides to every story your version, our version, and the court ruling. We take drunk drivers off the road to protect your love ones from being killed by one, we do hours of paperwork, make an arrest, and the person usually bonds out within 4-6 hours, and most of them have prior convictions but they still drive drunk. It's a thankless job, that you put your life on the line for everyday. If people would smarten up and not abuse, and break the law, we would all be out of work, but until that happens it will always be job security

This type of police action is mostly true of movie cops, however, the actions of real world cops are easily explained. It is the job of a police officer to protect the rights and freedoms of the individuals within their society. Some of these freedoms include; the freedom to retain their property, the freedom to live without having pain inflicted upon them, and the freedom to live. They can become easily frustrated by criminals who disobey the laws that constitue their free society. Hour after hour, day after day, year after year, watching over a city can cause serious mental strain. Police officers get to a point where they do not distinguish between criminals and potential criminals until the situation is calm and resolved.

Though it can be annoying and painful when it happens to us, we should appreciate the effort the police put into capturing criminals, because we know that we can sleep safely.

Law enforcement officials have no power whatsoever. If they arrest a mass murderer and he gets a broken nail, the police officers are investigated and often fired. They spend their lives protecting us. Please, could drunken hillbillies and druggies stop pestering them about nonsense like they, "ask u a question & then slam u on the car & put u in handcuffs, just 4 trying 2 explain ur situation."

I'm not saying that your flawed, lazy english makes you look bad, but if you’re going to bother police about law enforcement protocol, you need to improve on your argument and bring it up in city counsel.

Why are teachers, ministers and doctors cruel? People are just people. You need to understand that your situation may not have any bearing on the warrant they are carrying for you or the crime they just saw you commit. I have seen very few instances of true abuse in all my years working with the law enforcement community. What I have seen, however, is a lot of people who think they can talk themself out of anything and don't realize the officer has a job to do and doesn't have time to listen to what doesn't pertain to their job. That's your attorney's bailiwick.

Not all police are, but the bad ones unfortunately make more of an impression than the good ones. You never see a good cop helping save a life make the news, but the minute one is out of control, it does.

That's not to say we don't need to police the police, because they should respect private citizens and keep in mind that their job is to SERVE and protect us. It's a fine line they walk sometimes, and I wish there was a better way to do it.

The police should not act in this way to do their job. They spend the day dealing with to worst kind or people but they need to be able to tell when force is needed or not. When people blurr to them and they can't tell when force is right of wrong there is a real problem. I hope you made a complaint about being manhandled by an officer.

Law enforcement attracts little Napoleons. These people are power hungry, and love to show off their power. These little men think it makes them big when they can abuse helpless individuals.

You should report this cop to the chief of police and the states attorney. Probably nothing will be done, but it will be on record when someone else has the same problem and it will give more credibility to the next victim. Please report it. Of course the cop will lie, but you should report it anyway. Also tell your attorney.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

You are joking, right? Have you SEEN the bottom dregs of slime society they have to deal with? People with guns, drugs, knives and who knows what else. The police have to deal with the worst of the worst of society. Every trick in the book has been played against them, sometimes with fatal consequences.
I say give the guys (and girls) in blue a freaking break. Their job is a brutal nightmare. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about.
