nope, just get regular exercise, that is so much more important than going on a diet. Especially at your age, when you are still growing. And ignore your "friends" because everything they say behind your back makes them less your friends.

Reality check...
I was 350 pounds. I've lost 200+. Now I, me, I needed a diet. 98 pounds and you'll be sick if you lose. I don't care how small you are, remember. Your body is your friend. It allows you to live. It serves you if you take care of it. Abuse it, and your brain has no choice but to die along with the body. You need to feed it, not starve it. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman who is glowing with health and vitality...rosy skin, shiny hair, no bones sticking out all over, full hips and breasts. Emaciation is not attractive.
Why would your friends judge you by this anyway? It seems extremely shallow and catty. And why would you treat your body badly just to impress other people? Who is going to see you through your whole life? Your body will. That's where your loyalty belongs.
I have a personality, I am smart, OK to be with and am a normal weight and healthy. I don't give a rat's tail what others think.

When I was 14 I weighed 130 lbs... I wasn't fat either. It all depends on how YOU believe you need to look in order to be happy. Of course, idealistically you are already a self-confident being that shouldn't question themselves because of what some people say. If you want to go on a diet, though, don't starve yourself because you will just gain more weight once you leave the dieting lifestyle. Just be sure to stop eating when you're not hungry and to excercise a little more... but I wouldn't be worried about being fat if I were you.

If YOU think it will make you feel better, then by all means, go ahead. But don't do it because you feel that other people think you should. It never hurts anyone to exercise regularly and to eat a well-balanced diet that includes lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and healthy lean meats and fish and wholegrains. Talk to your mom about it and see if you can help her make out the shopping list each week and go shopping with her. You guys can plan lunches and dinners together and make sure that the whole family is eating well. It'll be much easier to stick to if you have the support of your whole family.
And by the way, if these people are talking about you behind your back like that, they are NOT your friends.
Good luck! Take care!

How tall are you?
Just google weight and height and see if you are in the range. But even if you are not, being 14 is not a good age to diet. Too many kids diet needlessly. Though it is never a bad idea to lay off the really fatty and sugary foods. Regular food is fine and good for you, though. Don't diet on that.
Oh, and if your friends talk about you behind your back, then they aren't your friends.

I was 98 pounds when I was 14 and people thought that I had an eating disorder. If you feel good about yourself that is all that matters. Don't let other peoples opinions make you feel like less of a person.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

okay, vampire! you've been doing nothing but asking questions for the shock value, or ones that solicit useless chatter. Starting with your early ones to present, I'll answer: Definitely Benji, guys like big butts [like the one you claim to have], God is real and no to the diet. Here's one for you. What do you care what your friends say about you behind your butt? um, back? At 14, you have to go around the block a few more times to fool seemingly intelligent people.

DO NOT GO ON A DIET - EAT A BIG BURGER RIGHT NEXT TO THEM AND GO ON ABOUT HOW GOOD IT IS!!!
I can't stand that young girls feel the need to worry about each other's weight. Be happy with who you are - and by the sounds of it you are already super thin.
Girls are JERKS and they try to make other girls feel bad about themselves by using psycological warfare in order for them to feel better about themselves... which will never work.
I had a girl in high school make fun of me all the time because I was nice to everyone regardless of what they looked like! She would call me a lesbian. She thought it would hurt me if she spread rumours that I was a lesbian. Instead of letting it destroy me, I would laugh about it and make jokes about my being a lesbian. It hurt her more that her rumours were not hurting me. Everyone else started making fun of her too...
I remember that - but I don't let it define who I am.
