Flavorful crock pot barbecued spareribs, made with pork ribs, maple syrup and honey, barbecue sauce, and other seasonings.
INGREDIENTS:
10 pounds spareribs

6 tablespoons honey
9 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)
6 tablespoons barbecue sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
PREPARATION:
Place spareribs on a broiler rack and broil for 15 minutes. Drain fat off. Cut ribs into serving size pieces. Combine remaining ingredients in the slow cooker; stir well. Add ribs; cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours.
Serves 10
And think who has the best potato salad
at what ever res truant that you like and pick
up some already made
Or make a leafy salad with tomato cucumbers
with home made ranch dressing
Pick up some hidden valley near the salad dressing isle
And pick up some french bread and and brown it in oven
and place in a basket with a towel and cover it
even if french bread is cold or hard it is good
and you can even dip it into the broth of your ribs

Cool, here: 1:macaroni salad(all u gotta do is take water put water in a pot add a little salt and butter, wait til the water boils then add the noodles, to cook them faster put a top on the pot... check the noodles every so often. to tell if it's finished break the noodles on the side of the pot, if it breaks easily it's finished. Mix it in with some regular salad lettuce, chunks of ham, chunks of tomatoes, ranch and italian dressing, cucumbers and if you wan't bacon bits. The best kind of noodles are the spiral noodles.) 2:hawaiin meatballs: take some regular meatballs and put them in the oven at about 350 for 30min. take them out and pour barbecue sauce in a bowl, soak them in barbecue sauce(make sure the bowl is big!) and add some pineapple chunks 3: cutecutts: this is totally easy: okay by wheat or white bread eat-able dough, cut them into rectangles about the half the size of a ruler. Lay mayo dressing ham or turkey, pepperjack cheese and roll it up. It's easy!

A really easy one is the 'ol cheesey bread bowl, it doesn't sound as good as, but give it a try. You take a round sour dough bread loaf, cut out the top and hollow out the inside. But don't throw away the innards. Then take grated cheddar cheese, cream cheese and some other things. Then tear up the pieces of bread into bit size bits, and cook it all the oven. It comes out delicious and it's very simple. For the actual recipe, here is the website: http://appetizer.allrecipes.com/az/93213.asp
I suggest not adding the ham or crackers, but whatever your preference is. Good luck.

i just had a very successful party, with 12 guests. My hot dishes were EASY~
buy chicken tenders and teriaki marinade. ( i used a delicious one from lawry's that had sesame in it...yum!) In the morning (or night before) skewer chicken and place in big, flat dish with marinade. cover and refridgerate.
buy: mushrooms, bell peppers, small (pearl) onions, small new potatoes, zucchini or yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, or any other favorite veggie. potatoes and small onions should be par-boiled (half-cooked) before skewering. skewer veggies and marinate in olive oil with garlic and salt/pepper and a little lemon juice. (italian dressing does well in a pinch) again, this can be prepared hours in advance, if need be. (soak wooden skewers in water to keep from burning or use metal ones.)
I then bought an even-shaped watermelon, cut a small side off, and balled out the melon to serve in a seperate bowl.
use hollow melon turned cut-side down on middle of the table as centerpiece.
1/2 hour before guests arrive, fire up the grill and place pre-prepped food on the grill. as food gets done, just keep warm in closed container for a few minutes. Bring the food in the house and poke skewers into (pre-poked) holes in watermelon hull.
EASY and BEAUTIFUL!
I also love the idea of make-your-own tacos/burritos.
again, most of the food can be prepped hours before party.
if using chicken, cut into strips and marinade with taco seasoning and water. cook slowly in crock pot or stock pot on stove. just make sure that it doesn't cook until dry. This is a great presentation, as well, because the crock pot will keep chicken warm for the party. If you want to use beef, cook in the skillet and add the seasoning and water after browned. You can still serve in the crock pot, as long as there is some moisture.
Serve with guacamole, salsa, chips, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, queso, and some "tropical" fruits for a delicious fiest.
At 7 months pregnant, I am all about "easy"

A few of my favorite appetizers for just such an occasion are:
Smoked trout on crostini with cream cheese and capers. Smoked trout is not 'raw' like lox. And the size of the trout lends itself well to slices fitting nicely on the crostini.
Seared ahi with a citrus/soy/ginger sauce. Don't be intimidated by this one. While the ahi is pricy, if it is fresh and not overcooked you cannot screw this one up.
Beef sate. This is beef saoked in coconut milk, skewered, and broiled.
Ranchera preparada with tortillas. Marinated skirt steak that is grilled, sliced lengthwise, and served on grilled tortillas.

You can find plenty of frozen appetizers in the supermarket frozen foods department. The also make deli platters and even complete sit down dinners. Most of it is as tasty as what you'd get at any restaurant where, guess what, most of it was frozen!
