I'm going to teach a class on how to go through airport procedures, so if anyone could tell me, in as much detail as possible, what specific questions people get asked at the ticket counter, check-in, passport control, immigration and emigration centers, etc (both before getting on and after getting off the plane), I'd appreciate it.

DEPARTURE PROCEDURES:

1) Check-in counter:
The passenger is asked to present all his luggages (hand luggages remains with him, and hold luggages get a bag tag with the flight number and destinatin on it), the ticket and passport (or other ID, depending on the nationality and destination). After checking his luggages (that go to the baggage sorting area), the passenger receives a boarding card (or more, depending on the number of legs he flies, for each one boarding card) with the name on it, flight number, departure time and seat number.

2) Security Check:
Passenger screening checkpoints will only accept passengers who have a ticket or ticket confirmation for the current travel date. A ticket or ticket confirmation includes a paper ticket, a boarding pass, official travel agency or airline-generated itinerary receipt confirming an electronic ticket, or airline/airport issued entrance document...plus a photo I.D. A government issued photo identification such as a driver's license or passport.
Passengers should be prepared to have their carry-on items thoroughly searched. Passengers who set off the metal detector alarm while passing through it will automatically be checked with an electronic wand and then patted down by airport security employees. For the women, I would like to suggest NO underwire bras, and wear low heel shoes. Others may also be checked with an electronic wand or patted down by security personnel at the screening checkpoint.
The following security questions will be asked at check-in:
Could anyone have interfered with your bags since you packed them? Have you been given anything to take on the flight?
Are any Dangerous Goods packed in your Hold or Hand Baggage? Are any Prohibited Items in your Hand Baggage or on your person?
It is a criminal offence to give false information.

3) Passport control:
Here you encounter the immigration authorities, that check the passport, visa if necessary, the onward ticket and the sufficient founds if necessary.

4) At the Gate
In addition to a boarding pass, passengers will be asked to show a government-issued photo identification just prior to boarding the aircraft.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES:

1) Passport control:
They will be asked here for the passport, visa (if necessary), the founds (again, if ncessary), the travel reason and how long the passenger intend to stay in that country.

2) Baggage claim area:
After completing passport control passengers should move to the baggage claim area. Monitors show which carousel is used for baggage for their flight.

3)Custom clearance area:
After baggage claiming, the passengers are asked to declare at the customs the goods they carry with them, as there are restrictions on some kind of goods, for which you may pay taxes.

4) Lost and Found:
For the luggages that do not reach their final destination.

I'm not sure what the ticket agents ask, but one question usually is, is your bag(s) unlocked. As for going through a checkpoint in the U.S., we ask if you have a laptop or video camera in your bag, if so it needs to come out. If you alarm the walk through metal detector we will then ask if you have anything metal or anything with foil on it, and to remove it and submit it for x-ray.

That would be a violation of security information if someone disclosed that to you. Go to the TSA website for information.

Show your ID, Did you pack your own bag today? Has someone asked you to hold or watch their bag for them? Is this bag locked? Do you have any firearms in your bag? What is your destination?
