I recently lost my job and I am in need of money really bad. I was going to ask my cousin if I could hold a yard sale at her house since I live in an apartment complex. Is this unreasonable to ask of someone? She knows how desperate I am.

I don't think it's unreasonable....she might have some things she would like to sell too! You might tell her that if she gets her stuff together that you will do all the work to prepare for the sale. She's family isn't she? That's what friends and family are for.....to help each other out in "good time and in bad"!

If it is family, it should be ok. Hey, I had a garage sale a few weeks ago, it was very hot out. My 8 year old son crashed my garage sale, and set up a soda stand. Sold out over 3 cases of canned soda... at $1 a pop...lolz.. He is such a little scam artist...lol. He made enough to take him and ALL of his friends to the movies.

It is a reasonable question. It is also reasonable of her to say no if she feels that she doesn't want you to have a sale there.
If you want to have a sale, and your cousin is against it at her home, ask another person.

I don't think it's unreasonable. Just be sure to let her know that she doesn't have to feel obliged to help if she really doesn't like the idea.

Have a family garage sale....ask someone to volunteer their driveway, and get your whole family to contribute. My family has done this many times. It's really no biggie.

its better than asking to borrow money I think it sounds like a great idea and ask if she has anything to donate to the yardsale. Make sure you keep things neat and clean and make it worth her while cook her dinner or something cheap to show your appreciation.

You can. Just don't expect your cousin to say yes. Be fine with either decision.

If you have close friends & relatives, they know the situation. Go and ask they will understand !

It depends on how close you are with her. If you need to ask then I think probably she won't like it.

Are you and your cousin really close? If so, I would ask.
