By keeping my doors open with my Air conditioner running. To help cool down the world :) (Ok so I am being sarcastic that is because I don't believe in Global Warming I think we need to be worried about the next Global Ice Age instead)

Lots of ways but by far the most pleasing and effective has been in the number of trees we have planted - enough for a small wood so far. This should ensure that we (girlfriend and myself) remain carbon negative for the rest of our lives. Most of the trees have been planted alongside a stretch of river, where historically, the whole area would have been densely covered in trees but in centuries past all the trees have been removed for miles around.
The trees ae becoming nicely established and the area has been greatly visually enhanced. Others have followed suit and the local landowners and forestry companies have planted trees as well. In 50 - 100 years time the area should begin to look like it would have done 500 years ago.
Trees are one of the environments greatest assets but as you're aware, globally there is widescale destruction of tree habitats.
Buying trees from garden centers can be expensive, far more cost effective is to save a tree that would otherwise have died. If you find a tree shoot begining to grow in the shade of a larger, established tree then simply move it to a more open location. Left where it was it would have been sure to have died. Moving it doesn't guarantee success but it greatly helps. It also helps to put some form of protection around the sapling to prevent browsing by animals etc. A very simple but effective way to grow a tree. Bear in mind that if you're doing this on private or public land you'll need permission from the land-owner.

short answer: not enough.
Long answer: cut my energy consumption with compact flourescents, about to get dual pane glass, considering solar, take public transportation to work most days, bike to work or an errand at least once a week, i've always recycled, buy local produce (less shipping - tastes better)
will any of this help global warming? who knows but it costs less and the cycling/walking helped me drop a LOT of weight.

--Riding my electric bike to town instead of driving my SUV. The bike gets the equivalent of 1200 miles per gallon.
--Driving 57 on the highways in my SUV with the windows up. If I do that, I get 28 miles per gallon, instead of 18-20 at 67 miles per hour.
--Buying food in bulk, locally, and growing what I can.
--Cut my electric usage for the household down to 25% what I used to use.
Will any of this help global warming? Who knows! But it sure helps my own personal pocketbook.
