In order to receive your private pilots license you must be seventeen. You're training can begin, before that though. You must be able to pass a physical examination. You have a written, oral and practical examination during your flight training. It' requires 40 flight time. Twenty hours with an instructor and 20 solo.

You can start taking lessons at any age and at age 12 you can fly if you are with another pilot/instructor. You can fly solo at 16.

If you are thinking of becoming a pilot, the computer game Flight Simulator can reall reall really help you! I've played it for years now, and when I first went to school, I already knew everything to do! The game is about 30 dollars.

You can solo at 16 and get your license at 17.

Although you can start to learn at any age, please ignore the 13-year old that claims he's certified to fly with his 16-year old cousin. The cousin isn't a pilot yet as he's not old enough, though he can solo. When flying solo, you cannot carry any passengers at all. If he's flying with his 16-year old cousin, they're breaking the law.
