i am not certified but i have been an aid in a acute care unit at a small hospital.. I love it so much i decided to be a nurse. I am presently in school to be an LPN. However, being an aid first for 5 years helped so much in school. I,m glad i was an aid first. I say go for it. It is very rewarding, you must be loving and patient. If you have those qualities you will be great! good luck! Get in touch if you have any more questions

Certified Nurses Assistant. If you like old people you will do well. I use to enjoy my job and I kept it even when I had an office job. I use to do it on the weekends. I love the interaction with older people and talking to them about how life use to be back in the days. They can be very interesting. On the other hand, there is the downside. The cleaning bodily fluids and some are a bit heavy that you have difficulty sometimes lifting them. But if you are looking for the interaction is very rewarding. I've learned a lot from my ex-patients and I even got so close to one that I called her "grandma".

I'm a CNA, its a very hard job, and the compensation is not good enough for the things you have to do. But it is a good stepping stone for getting into the medical field.

If you really want to know then go to one of your local hospitals and ask the supervisor if you can shadow a cna for a day, they do this where i work, its a good thing to do because people go through these classes and then decide they dont like it....
