I am a Moderator on a website that answers alot of questions for HUD tenants and people just searching for Section 8 housing. We've had alot of success with locating properties for tenants. All you need to do is go to http://www.Section8HudHomes.com website and look for your State in "Available housing by State" board. From there its only a matter of locating your city. You may also post your requirements in "I'm looking for Housing in.." board, doing this will allow us to know who is looking where and those will receive priority. We also have other Assistance links for Elderly, Food, Medical, etc. The Site owner, moderators, property owners and other tenants list available properties and assistance resources daily. She even started allowing photos of the properties. Once you're there you should find more info and resources. I hope I answered your question. Good Luck.

Contact you state's Department of Children and Family Services. They will be in the best position to help you with your grandmother. I commend you for helping her... too many people today just don't care much for the elderly. In Japan and China the elderly are revered.
