Like, if we wanted to cheat death, or create illusions, have things go against the laws of nature. All for serious reasons, and for fun (aka entertainment). Any idea how it could be done?

Don't we already do it? Cloud-seeding to get rain in the deserts; damming rivers and irrigating vast tracts of land; creating concrete jungles and raising local temperatures by +10deg C; creating sterile oceans by overfishing and pesticide runoffs; killing off wild birds by using DDT, thus screwing up local eco-systems...how many more examples of "bending the rules of mothe nature" do you need?

In a way we've already cheated death.

Scientists took a few dogs that have been dead for at least 3 hours and emptied the bodies of all the blood, they then put a salty mixture like anti-freeze in the bloodstream and left it in there for a few hours. They took that out and put the blood back in and they zapped the heart with electricity. In a few moments the dogs were on their feet and barking. Zombie dogs, that's scary.

I think the Laws of Nature as we know it are incomplete or somewhat not the true laws. Some people (and extremely hated people) had claimed to make 'bonsai kittens', they put kittens in a small jar and let them grow in there without letting them out and the kittens took the shape of the jar. It's most likely a hoax and an extremely hated one at that.

Someday, with better technology and better understanding Earth, I believe we may just be able to alter the Laws of Physics for the better of humanity.

Your tale is a really profound philosophical one. yet you bypass over the point that God may be the author and is finally the author of what you call "mom nature". The question should be is God interventionist? Does He intrude in his creation? or has He only as you recommend set the initial rules of the universe and enable it play out like a complicated workstation sport simulation. then you start up taking area in with philosophical subject matters like determinism and loose will. Are we loose to modify our destiny or has all of that been determined? i in my opinion believe in determinism, because you many times get precisely what you ask for. from time to time it really is not what you want - despite the indisputable fact that it incredibly is because you probably did not specify the question wisely. in case you incredibly comprehend that very last area, i imagine you've taken the first step in comprehend-how the flexibility of the human thoughts.

Whenever humans have tried to cheat nature it had either distrupted the normal human comfort or the nature comfort.

Like when humans tried to bring rain in dry areas by spaying silver oxide on clouds, it brought disturbances/troubles in other areas where these clouds where supposed to bring rain

so better mother nature as it is...and decrease pollution / population which will cause disturbances in nature

Nature's main energy sources of atmosphere, air, water, land and heat are interdependent. That is why we speak of global warming after tinkering with some of these and not knowing to do how to contain it. The changes that would take place among the energies when one or some of them is altered is to be studied in detail with various permutations and combinations. When you have thought, you have bent the rules of nature, it should encompass all the energies and their collective effects to overcome the interdependencies of these.
