i did an indepth, line-by-line course on the bible one time & boy was i surprised when i got to Song of Solomon... it was beautiful and sexy and wow. guys sure don't talk like that anymore. girls, either, for that matter.
Him speaking to Her... 4:5-8 Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies. Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.
Her speaking to Him... 8:1-3 O that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised. I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate. His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Obviously you're not a Christian. First of all, there's more smut, violence, and scarey stories in most of today's cartoons than there is in the Bible - maybe you should take the time to read through the entire book before judging it. Second, God's kingdom is not for "adults only" so why should His word be? There are children's Bibles available that don't include all the scarey details that you seem to be so against. And last but not least, if you don't like the Bible, don't criticise those of us who do. Let it alone. Choose a hotel without Bibles or return it to the front desk when you get there.

Good luck getting enough people to appeal to congress that that's the case. After all, a lot of the people who appeal "smut" are the ones that also support the bible. If you could get enough concerned parents feeling that the bible was smutty, then by all means I'd totally be for it. Give bible fans and punk rockers something they can agree on for once.

Most definately if a censor when through it they would mark infaticide, fratracide, rape, murder, theivery, abuse, prostitution, lying, cheating, genocide, patricide, matracide, glorified violence, and megadeath (not the band but the act of total life annhilition on the earth). To list the major events. It has been called the most violent book ever written, and Christianity calls it a book of peace?.

Yes.
The Bible and the Koran together.
It is considered offensive and politically incorrect to enforce your views political, religious or otherwise upon others. Yet that is exactly what happens when the Christians try to leave Bibles in hotel rooms and preach their crap on the street corners. It's quite insidious.

Maybe you should get the kiddie songs andBible lessons for children. That's how we were taught. Most little kids wouldn't read that big, thick, book anyway.I didn't read it through till I was over18.Kiddie lessons are to teach the main themes of the Bible, which everyone should know.As for fighting you can tell them there are wars and people get killed, and there are perversions too,but save big details til they're older as not to burden their minds and disturb them.

It is a book that is life changing. Not letting kids read it is one step short of child abuse - denying kids the opportunity for the solid moral grounding that the Bible provides for this life, and the only hope for eternity.

The bible is like a manual that God sent us on how live life.. basically.. there's all sorts of answers to the bible that people can find.. like the stories that God's people have been through and through Jesus's teachings we can definalty learn something...
as childern are growing up they have to know good principal and face the facts of what this world is made up of.. sin.. and the only way the bible can warn us away from such things is to talk about them.. and showing and telling how people have made such mistakes and went through the consequences. Just like every parent/ grownup need to talk about the bad things of what not to do like sex, drugs, murder... etc.. to any kid out there so they can learn lessons..
so that would be an "of course not" answer for ur question..
if u truely read and believe what God has told us through His word, you will see every ounce of truth in it.. and that's what the whole world needs to face today.. every single person..
and if it's just small kids like the age of 7 or 5 or etc..
there are tons of small bible story books out there in christian bookstores that tells morals and stories that the bible has instore..it would be good for the childern to know about these stories like David and Golieth.( don't know spelling..sry) .. stateing about courage and true faith in God.. and those simple stories can enrich the minds of childern and their imagination for that matter.. God works in mysterious ways even in the small minds of childern.. and Learning about God let's childern have some belief and faith in a true higher God that will protect them and might even give them hope.
Childern don't imeadatly have to go into the topic of what teenagers need to go through..you can pick out any story u think it's good for ur childern in the bible.. the ages for the bible as not limited.. it's for everyone.. because its about life.. and life starts from ur birth to ur end..
and I'd even say adults needs the bible as much as childern do.. and vise versa... read it with faith and belief and u'll see how much wise perspective change u'll have in the world... it changed how I thought about almost everything.. because u now see what u were once blind to.. and wouldn't that be good for ur childern?.. it'll make them wise beyond years~!!
I'm only a teenager myself.. and so many things have changed only in few years after my devotion for Christ.. can you imagine how much change and widom from God I'll have years later through my life?
God is soooooooooo awsome that u can't even descibe in words..
sooo I hope u take this at heart...
God bless..
and may the "Word" be with ya..
