Depends for how long but yes, jumping rope is better for your heart and gives you a better overall workout.

It would be a good idea to mix it up and do both - like do a 30 minute walk with 5 minutes of running every 10 minutes. Then for 10 minutes jump rope - cause this is like the circuit training they do - to keep your heart and body moving at different paces with different exercies helps to boost metabolism and burns more fat and builds more muscle..Mix it up - I lost so much weight doing that and jumping rope is one of the best exercises you can do.

Jumping rope is a good upper-body exercise, and I think upper-body exercises are good for the heart. It's hard work, so start slow, maybe a few minutes at a time, and gradually build up your time.
I don't know which is better, but with jumping rope, you exercise more of your body.

I would say walking is better as there are people who are unable to jump rope or run

My doctor told me that jumping rope for 15 minutes is equivalent to running a mile.

I prefer walking/running because jumping rope puts a lot of stress on your knees & spine.

jump roping is definetley a harder workout as long as you do it for long enough
id say 10 minutes of jump rope equals about a 40 minute walk, and 20 minute jog
10 minutes straight! (that is very difficult)

I think jump rope burns more calories but if you alternate each day between the two would probably be better. (exercise different muscle groups, etc...)

If you have the time, walk. I think walking is the best since it puts less stress on your joints, but you have to do more walking to get the cardio benefits that you'd get ina shorter period of jumping or running.
