It doesn't. One of the most common arguments about abortion comes from the Ten Commandments, where we are told "Thou Shalt Not Kill." But this begs the question of "kill what?" Does this commandment mean we cannot kill anything, even a fly? No. It means we should not kill another human being. Of course, the Fundamentalist believes a pre-born fetus is the same as a full-term human being. God, however, does not. In Exodus 21:22-25 we read that if a man accidentally kills a pregnant woman, that man should be condemned for committing murder. However, if he only kills the fetus - that is, if she miscarries - he is not condemned for murder. Clearly, then, God does not consider the pre-born fetus as being the same as a human being, in which case the Commandment of "Thou Shalt Not Kill (a human)" does not apply.

Firstly, we all know what abortion is, the premature termination of the life of the unborn child. Yet we have to distinguish between abortion on demand and abortion on necessity. The former is about usually where the controversy rages over one's rights, whereas the latter is in those cases where the life of the mother is at stake or other serious medical considerations (note: these cases are rare).

Secondly, to make mention of the 10 Commandments is very necessary. However, the better translation should be "You shall not murder." Killing is not necessarily murder whereas murder certainly necessarily means killing. Whether killing is considered murder rests upon whether one has the moral right to take away life.

So to apply the above, it would be murder in all the millions of cases of abortions on demand. For those cases where abortion was judged as the best way to preserve life, it would not be murder. Maybe there might even be some cases where there is some moral dilemma in deciding whether it is murder or not, we just have to examine it case by case. But by and large, the presumption would be murder since most abortions today are abortions on demand, the rights of the defenseless child is violated and his right to live is snatched away.

Abortion was not done in those days. So it does not. But we have enough children already starving to death in this world. I cannot understand why abortion issues are more important than feeding the children already here. And I don't often see pro-life persons adopting children that know one else wants. This whole abortion issue is another way of politicians to avoid the real issues. And we are sometimes guilty for that too. I personally don't believe in abortion. But I respect the right for a women to choose.

The part that goes from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. The whole thing is all about "shalt not murder" and "love everyone." Abortion is obviously murder, and also isn't showing love for even the most innocent and helpless among us.
Abortion was considered unthinkable then, so they saw no reason to write about it specifically.

It's right there, in Exodus 20:13 (That's Chapter 20, verse 13, as you apparently don't know the Bible), where it says "Thou Shalt Not Kill".

Pro-lifers also use the scripture Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." To say that the fetus has a soul.

For people that are pro-life they believe it breaks the commandment....thou shalt not kill. They believe a baby is a person the moment of conception.

We are living before we are born. God knew us before we were even in the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 ""Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." Who are we to take away and kill what God has formed? We cannot and should not play the role of God; killing what He has created for a purpose.

Put that together with thou shalt not kill.
