I get what you mean. Like if you ask "Where in the bible can I find information about X?" And some answerers respond "Nowhere in the bible" and some might say "Deuteronomy 2:12-26" and then some again might point you to Leviticus or something.
I can answer this question on three levels. On the first level, some people are just lazy and assume that they know everything about the bible just because they might be Christian. So, if these people don't remember hearing a bible story about what you're asking, they might just respond and say "nowhere". On the second level, some people just respond in ridiculous ways to questions on Y!A whether they think they know the answer or not. They respond for 2 points, and that's about it. I think the third level might deal with interpretation of somewhat ambiguous bible passages. Some sects or individuals interpret bible passages in totally different ways than others. For example, one person might take revelation as literal prediction of events to come, while others look at the book of revelations as a set of metaphors describing past events. A matter of interpretation. That's my 2 cents.

Yeah - like that only happens with the Bible. Science and American history has gotta be up there somewhere close.
I agree with your last words of advice - regardless of what the subject may be. It's what happens in a world where reading is no longer "necessary" and more and more folks just rely on what other people tell them and what they think they already know.
But I would also caution that the Bible, like any other source of information, is also open to interpretation - so not everyone who reads the same passage will come to exactly the same understanding.

I believe no one should answer it period because the questioner isn't sincere in asking in the first place and they make the person look foolish for trying to search it. Every ones version of the bible is different and every ones opinions /views are different. The questioner will still be confused or amused by the confusing of so-called believers!

Yes- I agree with you...they should take the time to look it up before saying its not in the bible but, I think many people here are just out to get the 2 points for leaving ANY response......right or wrong, just how it is I guess.

I downloaded a free program called E-sword. www.e-sword.com
It's an electronic version of several versions of the Bible. It also has commentaries and dictionaries. It's easy to quickly find a verse or topic.

Amusing.
More pitiful sometimes because the finger pointing is usually a rant that tries to disprove a parable scripture with a couple of words.

Ya so, if they look foolish what difference does it make. No one knows who they are and never will. Don't be so picky over trivial stuff...this is yahoo answers and we all know it's just for fun......

Sooooo right!!! I use Biblegateway.com to easily find any scripture....You just need to know one word of the scripture that you are looking for and it will show you every scripture in the entire Bible with that word in it.
