They are still working on it. Reagan's idea was a satellite system for destroying ICBMs from space shortly after launch. That plan is not currently in development to the best of my knowledge, but we are working on ground base missiles to intercept ICBMs with some small success.

Most people think not. Some think we have something. It is hard to say because if it does exist it would be one of the best kept secrets in the defense industry.

I don't think we have it because bush wants to create the missile defense shield system which is essentially the same thing just using ballistics rather than lasers. Lasers would be cooler though.

I don't think so, but it did bankrupt the Soviet Union and defeat the global Communist power.Thiis is how Ronald Reagan won the cold war.

i think it is now called the patriot missile defense system. and has been used in Iraq, from Kuwait ( at the begging of the war it shot down an RAF plane ) and is also deployed in Israel.
