wrap the extremal hot casserole in foil and then with a towel it will remain warm during the trip. it will not stay at the correct temp 140 degrees after that hour if have assess to sternos that you can use after you get there it would be best.discard the left over after 2 from the time you get there three hours total time after you take it out of the oven. you dint want people to say it was good going down but not as good coming up.

You can buy a large plastic insulated bag that keeps food products hot or cold. They are wonderful and are sold in almost any grocery store; usually hanging in the ice cream section of the store. I have used them for both hot and cold food items and when we arrive the food is perfect! Another plus, they cost a little over one dollar!

I always wrap the dish in towels as soon as it comes out of the oven and jump in the car and go.

are you going to serve it in the wilderness?
See if you can pop it in the oven of wherever you are going.
Call your host 15 minutes before you arrive and ask her to pre-heat her oven. Unless she's trying to make thanksgiving dinner, I'm sure there'll be room to squeeze your casserole in . . .
