I don't know anyone who's for the attacks on Lebanon, but they are not hard to understand. Lebanon allowed Hezbollah to build their offensive posture in order to attack Israel. On a regular basis, munitions were being brought in and stored for this very event, yet the Lebanese or it's government did nothing to stop it.

The citizens of Lebanon along with it's government were complicit in Hezbollah's build up, therefore they are paying the consequences for this horrific indiscretion.

Let's face it, Syria and Iran are looking for a fight, and they will probably get one. I doubt that the US will let Israel go it alone, if that happens. I also believe that if it does happen, both country's will be destroyed, for all practical purposes.

This isn't a war... War occurs between two countries. This involves Lebanon, but not in the way everyone thinks.

This is an invasion of a sovereign state by Israel.
This is about Hezbollah and their ongoing attacks against Israel.
Lebanon has never cleared Hezbollah out of south Lebanon.

I am for Israel's right to defence against attack.
Hezbollah is the sole reason, and actor, for these attacks.

So I'll leave you with a final thought, If your neighbour won't clean out their yard, and it is a hazard to your home, will you clean it?

Why has Lebanon been so lack lustre in protesting the invasion of their territory? Could it be that they're letting their neighbour clean the yard for them?

I'm against war period. It does nothing to fix the past, and only succeeds in destroying the economy and families. Ignorance and intolerance are the roots of war. Get rid of them, not the people. It starts with the children. Teach the children tolerance for the differences in others and war disappears.

War is a necessary evil and something that shouldn't be entered into lightly. Hezbollah, in its disregard for civillity, deserves the full measure of the IDF - and so, in this case, war is necessary.

Without war, Americans would be speaking Japanese or German, and the world would be decended into darkness. There wouldn't be a United States.

I'm reminded of a quote from John Adams
'I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain.'

I challenge anyone to honestly claim they are FOR WAR. How ignorant can one be to make such a blatantly ill-informed statement. That is akin to saying (or asking) "are you for or against clean air?". Perhaps restating your question to ask if a person is in support or not in support of the objectives being conflicted in the war. I have yet to meet any American in favor of war. When I was in the mid-east, I did meet people in those lands that were "for war" however. Cultural differences? Living in a region of continual conflict? Their viewpoint is formed by their experiences.

I think that if the goverments hate each other they can fight. They don't have to put the rest of america in danger. The goverments can go somewhere where no life is at and blow eachother up there. War is for morons.

I'm against war anywhere; country, home, interpersonal. It just causes a shift of power not a way to solve problems.
