it kind of seems like they're trying to create a scenario where, after you get drafted, the drill sargeant says something like, "HEY, MAGGOT! HAVE YOU BEATEN SOCOM 2 FOR X-BOX?" and if you say yes, then it's straight to special forces with you...

What a lame idea.

Did you think of this all by yourself?

Pull your head away from your video screen, put down your game controller and read a book, pick up a newspaper and join the real world, just for a few minutes.

The influx of war related games is for one purpose....to make the companies that produce these to make money as with any business, period.

You mention that "after you get drafted....", well there hasn't been a draft since 1973 as I recall as my draft number in 1972 was 14.

And having served in the army I can assure you that acceptance, let alone qualifying for the special forces takes more than 2 quick fingers and a couple of thumbs. But I willing to bet you already know this.

OK, you can go back to your X-Box.

No nothing of the kind it is more about conditioning the mind to war, by allowing the youth to play these games they will think that killing, and destruction is OK and normal, its all propraganda to soften the blow,, nothing like a little brainwashing,,
