I don't think anyone has said this yet, but you should agree with me on a few points about God.
1. He is perfect
2. He knows everything
Okay, if you agree that he is perfect then you realize that he doesn't need anyone. He doesn't need us. God could be perfectly content with himself for eternity because he is perfect. He doesn't need us. But he created us anyway. He is so loving to do that. He didn't have to create us. It is his unconditional love that he created us. We chose to defy God and bring sin into the world. It is our choice that leads to Hell, not his.
So you don't feel like worshipping him? Well, I am human, too, and the thought of worshipping him for thousands of years and then some does seem like it would get boring pretty fast. Because he is perfect, the home in which we are bound to live in (heaven) must also be perfect. Why wouldn't it be? And if we are to become part of perfection, I see no need to turn away.
And God knows everything. So yes, he knew that we would bring sin upon ourselves. So yes, he knew that some would turn away and go to Hell. You do make it sound pretty bad. Then why not worship him. Would you really like to believe you have a choice in the matter? If you believe in God, then you should believe that the fact is that he will punish all of those who don't believe in him. Why? Because he is righteous. Come on, let's pretend something for a second.
You're an employer for one of the world's leading companies. You have complete access to all potential employees past, and can use that to easily predict how they will work for you. Now you are ready to hire somebody new. One person is very devoted to the work of the company, and you have seen his past devotion to prepare for this type of work. On the other hand, you have an employee who has plotted against the company, maybe caused some financial damages. And if you give him an inch, he'll take a mile and destroy the company.
God doesn't accept the impure into heaven. If he gives non-believers an inch, they'll take a mile. Would you want to live in a heaven with people that just aren't good people? Or in a Christian's mind, haven't accepted what you have accepted-Jesus Christ. When you accept Jesus Christ, you're not just accepting the name. It's the entire being. After all, God is part of the trinity, as much as Jesus is. It makes entire sense that if you can believe in God, you can believe that whatever he has in store for us in heaven will be perfect. And you should be able to believe that some will not make it because he is perfect.

So, would you have rathered to be a mindless being? How could your father punish you for crossing a busy street without looking both ways? How can we be punished for murder? How fair would God be to NOT punish those who are evil, when so many have been good? When we all have a choice to be good?
Why would we kill a dog that eats babies?
I think it is more than fair that the wicked are punished and if you would read and study the Bible, you might find that being good is NOT such a hard thing to do. Its only hard when we are selfish, greedy, etc. My answer will not be liked I am sure, but it is for the same reason people choose not to follow Jesus- it would mean taking a look at ourselves and admitting fault- sadly, you are complaining because of something that is our fault- but we cant admit we have faults!
I wish people would take the time to really study the Bible, and pray for understanding, because it isnt that complicated. I will be the first to admit that "Christians" including myself sometimes- can be less than kind- we will be punished for it because we should know better, but our salvation is repentance. Repentance is admitting fault and learning from it, trying not to err in the same ways, but if we do- we try and try again. Eventually, we can learn not to be so coarse in our ways.
Most importantly, I wish people would not look at OUR deeds and judge God, because we are wrong and we dont please God when we act unloving.
The message of Jesus, was to love one another- is that so hard? I think if you can learn to love others, you will feel Jesus and believe without being conned or prodded into it. Then you will love Jesus and believe and thats what saves us from hell. If you could possibly understand the depth of the Bible, you might learn that Hell was actually made for fallen angels, and not for God's children. It really takes more work to get into hell, than it does to go to heaven, once you understand the true purpose of mankind- and the gift God has given us. We do NOT just naturally sin as people seem to think, our sins are choices and actions of our own intelligent thought. If we would try harder to understand what peace, love and compassion is- it would be easier to make better choices.
Ok, now that I have written a book- I am skeptical what I wrote so far will even be read. Since its pointless to continue, I am done- but if you are truly interested in learning more- I am available to chat!

God *did* create beings to worship him--in Judeo-Christian thought, they were angels. Some rebelled, some stand around all day and sing, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts." Bor-ing! But they don't technically have free will, so they're kinda stuck doing whatever God wants them to.
Remember that "hell" as it's thought of today is a Renaissance idea mainly based on Dante's Inferno (which was a satirical work making fun of people whom Dante hated--and why would people latch onto Dante as a theological thinker? The Catholic church *hated* him!) and morality plays and crazy Hieronymous Bosch paintings and things of that ilk. My old church said that if you didn't accept God at the end of the world, you would merely be burnt up and your name removed from the book of life--it would be like you never existed and you'd be gone for eternity and nobody would miss you because they wouldn't remember who you were to be able to miss you. But it was just people who were given a choice after they died and saw how things were in the afterlife and still chose to be evil. Basically, they had no desire to be happy and they couldn't continue to exist because they'd drag everybody else down. But they didn't suffer eternally--they just died completely, soul and everything.
Just for fun, ditch the idea of hell. Imagine that God loves you and hates it when people hurt each other and he's sorry that people have misinterpreted his words and made you feel confused. You've been hurt by misinterpretation. Don't let the stupidity of humans corrupt your idea of what God, and love, is really like. God is happy that you're thinking about these things, because inquiry (especially self-inquiry) will help you grow spiritually. You're gonna be fine, and you're not gonna burn. Just ditch the idea of heaven and hell--it's human folly. You won't learn anything about love while you live in fear. People use fear to manipulate, to feed their greed, to keep people in line. Don't give in to fear! It is of the Dark Side! God gave us free will so that we could *decide* whether to love or not. You don't get free will and get nailed when you exercise it. Just do the best you can, try not to be discouraged, and try some different religious thought to get some perspective (and I just use the term God because it's convenient--don't be put off by it if you aren't monotheistic.)

God loves us so much,if he didn't ,there wouldn't be a paradise. Moreover there's hill for the people that kill, cheat, rap, hate, love blood scenes as Israel and the American army in the Iraq.I think that they deserve hell.We are not worshiping God only in this world ,we love, play,go out with friends...etc.Inaddition to, we have 2 ways to choose between them;a good way and a bad one. Both of them are not destined, you have your own will 2 choose between them.Of course the good way is better because it leads 2 a better way.If God was selfish ,he would cut ur tounge befroe saying what u said and if he was s elfish ,he wouldn't give us love.Remember that the person is the onewhochanges love 2 hatered;when he steals,raps,kills...to the end of the bad things.

Well, this is one of the many questions addressed in philosophy courses...but fortunately, or unfortunately, there are no right or wrong answers. Many claim that God is a made up entity for the purpose of moral good (like Kant claims in his Postulate) while others argue he does not exist for any good purpose, and that he may even be evil. The only answer I can give you is this: read up on it. You might do one of two things; find the answer you're looking for, or get even more confused.
Happy hunting :)

I think of God as the Father and we are the children. When parents create a child they choose to have a baby because they want their family to grow. A little person that resembles them to love and take care of. This is why the Lord made us. He loves us. He takes pride in his children and loves them just like any father would. If your father tells you "listen to me or your in trouble" he says it because he knows what is best for you. Same with the Lord. He cares for us. He doesn't want us to go to hell but if we follow Lucifer then that is we're we will end up. He gave us life, takes care of us in life, and gives us the chance of eternal life. All he wants us to do is acknowledge that he exists, a follow a few rules. Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

All good points.
We've outgrown the biblical god.
BTW, the only people welcome in Heaven are those who give up free will and blindly obey the will of God, as described in the bible. You're right, he could get just as much worship from a bunch of will-less zombies.
And how many "praise God"s can you fit into eternity? Doesn't sound like God has much in mind for those he saves.

Great question. I agree, I can't possibly beleive God is so insecure. I think men created christianity and islam and the jewish faith and paganism as a way of trying to describe the ultimate universal power that created us all...or at least set it all in motion. I don't think there's anyone watching me waiting for me to make a tiny mistake. It's all about control.

It is the ignorant people of a few thousand of years ago who created a God as you/they are describing on thir minds.
I believe, I have better ideas now if I had to make up a new image of a God.
