As a Christian, do you believe this statement?
Faith alone is the righteousness of the Christian and the fulfilling of all the commandments.
What do you think it means?

FAITH WITHOUT ACTION IS DEAD.(James 1:2-3) 2 Consider it all joy, my brothers, when YOU meet with various trials, 3 knowing as YOU do that this tested quality of YOUR faith works out endurance.

(James 2:14) 14 Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it?

(Hebrews 11:1-3) 11 Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld. 2 For by means of this the men of old times had witness borne to them. 3 By faith we perceive that the systems of things were put in order by God’s word, so that what is beheld has come to be out of things that do not appear.

Faith doesn't belong solely to Christians nor the righteous. As for what it means, it's a lot of double talk designed to confuse the masses nothing more. As for fulfilling the commandments, they were written by men, not God. So take them with a grain of salt.

The "gospel"(good news)is,that Christ died for our sins was buried and was raised from the dead and is alive in a glorified body at the right hand of God.If you accept that he died for your sins and ask him to forgive you, which he will no matter what you've done if you mean it.Then he gives you the GIFT of salvation. You can't earn a gift or else it becomes wages .Paul says and I'm paraphrasing "That no man can earn salvation lest he boast and say'I did thus and such therfore God's gonna like me best'"
Jesus told the parable where a farmer hires some guys at dawn to work in the fields for a days wages, then at noon he gets somemore guys then at 5:00 he hires somemore guys. At 6:00 quittin' time they all get paid the same.Well the guys that started at dawn were upset "Hey,we should get more,we worked longer!" to which the farmer said "this is what you hired on for this is what you get, don't be mad at me because I'm kind."See,people are going to do all kinds of work and anotherguys going to accept Jesus on his deathbed and get the same salvation.Do work not to BE SAVED but because you ARE SAVED and you love God and thank Him for His gift of Salvation.

It means that at its basis, all religions are based on faith; logic is untimately unfulfilling because it contradicts itself (you're not supposed to base an arguement's premises on the conclusion of that arguement, as that's circular reasoning. Thus, logic can only be proven with logic, and as therefore is "circular reasoning"). While practical assumptions and observations of the world is made, ultimately our belief in god, belief in no god, or even belief in the inability to truly know god, is faith, things that we feel we "know" without having extrapolated them logically. "Faith" are the answers that are simply given to us, rather than learned.

That's not a bad thing, but it's not a good thing either. It is merely a thing, and if that is what saves mankind, I must say that faith is not a conscious act, but one of the subconscious.

Coming from someone of the LDS faith, we believe that in order to fulfill all commandments you must have faith, serve all, and when you break a commandment you can repent. No one can live on just faith.

You must put your faith totally and completly in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You must believe that He died for you and that He arose on the 3rd day and that one day He is coming back to take you to Glory. And you must believe that with out question, then ask Him into your heart and life, and by your faith in this He will save your soul from eternal hell

when we were children (before I grew up and decided that it was time for me to "choose" my faith), I was told that the bible says, that to become "saved" all one has to do is "accept god." accept his gift of salvation or righeousness. my dad was a pastor and my mom was everything from a sunday school teacher to the treasurer. so, this is what one must do to become saved in the christian faith...."call upon the lord god" and thou shall be saved! nothing more! and to "prove it" one should be baptised... kind of a requirement really................ good luck in your search for the truth..............p.s. you need not be perfect on all of those commandments... you could even off someone, later on in years, I learned that the only sin that god will not forgive is "not accepting his gift of salvation." so, if you did this, you are safe, even though you proubably still live in fear of not knowing... christianity, for me anyway, can be a pretty confusing and scary religion...............but to each his own..........good luck

We should give up our worldly ideas, and turn our life and faith over to God, accept that Jesus died on the cross and resurrected for our sins, when we do that we are saved and should live a spiritual life, through spiritual eyes.

I don't believe that's all you have to do, but many do. I believe you have to truly change and try not to sin to be saved. Like religious figures that molest children are not really saved, because they know it's very wrong.
