I have heard that term in military movies and would like to know just how far that distance is.

a 'click' is slang for one kilometer, or 1000 paces (the average step length being approximately one yard/meter (yes, I know there is a 3" difference, but I'm from America, dammit!)

It should actually be a measure of speed, 1k/h (one kilometer per hour). by the way I would normally expect it to be spelled klik or klick
