Or is evolution the religion of the secular humanist?

2006-08-07 12:43:55 · 10 answers · asked by Bimpster 4 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

IMO evolution is a religion. God did not choose to use evolution to populate the planet. I believe there were many more species that will never be discovered. There were many more races of people then there are today before the flood. Disease, pestilence and disaster most likely wiped out most of the “hidden extinct” creatures after the flood. I agree “Secular Humanism is the religion of liberalism. Darwinian evolution is one of the tenets of the faith. Their principal sacrament is abortion.” That is common knowledge. Christians who believe in evolution run the risk of disavowing the scriptures for their validity of their faith. Deny one thing, you inevitably deny the whole thing. That’s unfortunately a disease of the Christian in America. I choose to be referred to as saint and not as Christian. I actually hate the term but when called one can’t relate to the common American Xian. Evolution and Christianity is an unholy alliance. That’s tantamount to Christian abortionists.

Well many secular humanists are evolutionists... true...
However, many Christians believe in evolution also.

There are aspects of evolution which suggest "intelligent design" and many Christians see this as incorporating both ideas.

Given the percentages of Christians in the US, I would wager that the religion of "evolutionists" (i.e., those who accept the theory of evolution) is Christianity.

I grew up in the 1960s and 70s, the son of a Methodist minister in Tennessee, and evolution was accepted by members of the congregation, by my parents, and within most of the faculty and at least a large number of the student body in my high school.

It was more wonderful of God to have created via evolution than to have God plop together the universe in 7 days, which makes God rather indelicate and lacking subtlety.

Neither. Evolution is a scientific idea accepted by most scientist,
who actually represent a large range of different religious beliefs.
Most who work in the field of science, see what they do in harmony with their faith. It is sad that fundamentalists of all religions resist and attack science, but they do and in doing so only help spread ignorance instead of knowledge. Knowledge and the lack thereof proportionately around the planet has us still behaving like Animals.

OK. We need to settle this. Evolution is NOT a religion, it is science.

PS:- I am a Christian.

Fail. "all of the evidence delivered with the aid of scientists are in simple terms suppositions" Blatant lie. data submitted isn't based in any respect on suppositions. "I actual have an IQ of 143" Woop-de-doo. All that shows is which you're an fool with a extreme IQ ;) actual, you would be able to desire to be mendacity. in case you had a extreme IQ you would be in a position to when you consider that evolution isn't a faith. "Micro-evolution is stated as version" this is variety of like arguing semantics, different than microevolution is in simple terms small scale genetic adjustments interior a inhabitants, no longer inevitably adapting to the ecosystem. Sexual decision would reason microevolution, as an occasion. "this is the consequence of activation of genes that are already interior the chromosomes" And your foundation for this opinion is what precisely? "once you assert birds developed from reptiles you do no longer show something" there is data to decrease back up this declare alongside with comparative morphology in living and ancestral species and genetic. a lot interior a similar way data is there to decrease back up the declare that human beings are descended from a similar primate ancestors as chimpanzees and different great apes. "i'd say the vehicle developed from a bicycle, as a results of fact they have similarities" vehicles and bicycles do no longer reproduce, living organisms reproduce utilising a storage medium that's suseptable to blunders. The assessment is stupid. "i comprehend what i'm conversing approximately" ordinary, you look to comprehend sh*t all approximately it. "it does not propose it did no longer exist earlier in this is DNA" Are you asserting that the genome of bacteria that produce nylonase, that have been shown (ie: recreated in a lab ecosystem) to have obtained the genes with the aid of an blunders, have been actual designed to have that ability blunders? back, you do no longer understand sh*t all approximately it. "each dogs in the international has a similar variety of chromosomes" Uh, and? they're each of a similar species, this isn't any marvel they do. Horses and zebras can breed in spite of having a large distinction in chromosome quantity and in basic terms produce sterile offspring. there's little doubt that the two are proper with the aid of ancestry nevertheless, and this is often backed up with extra genetic and fossil data. i in my opinion do no longer understand in case you're a troll or in simple terms dumb. pondering the quantity of blatant lies here i'm guessing you're in basic terms a creationists attempting to sound clever. ;) back, fail.

Evolution is another remedy created by satan to try and stir people away from Christ and is totally off balance, we have a conscience, a spirit and a soul. We are not merely flesh, which is what the evolution theory would seem to support. We have a will in us, and hopefully it is Gods that we let work in us.

Yes...and it definately IS a religion.
It's been forced on our society for nearly a hundred years.
It takes much more faith to believe in their science fiction, fantasy tales than it does intelligent design.
So we have to give them that, at least.
They do have a lot of faith.

Uh, excuse me, 'A Person'...science fiction is NOT science.

'badbear' got it right. Hey, good bear! ;)
