a person who has considered religious ideas but can't determine if they truly believe in god or not. It basically means "I don't know for sure" and leaves a person's mind and heart open for new information with which to make that decision.

An agnostic is someone who does not deny nor accept the acceptance of a diety. They believe that neither side of the issue has presented enough tangible (testable) evidence to prove either theory as being fact.

Somebody who doesn't know for certain whether or not God exists. An agnostic is one who believes that the existence of God is unknown and most likely beyond human ability to discover.

i consider myself an agnostic.
agnostics generally like to have concrete evidence before they belief a certain way.
so agnostics generally say that they neither believe in nor deny the existance of God, since they have no proof for either belief.
they believe that the existance of God is unknowable to humans, so they are not atheists nor believers. they simple acknowledge the fact that they just don't know, nor do they believe anyone really knows.

As other have stated, agnostics do not believe there is any proof of any particular god or religion. Atheists insist that there is no god or true religion. Theists insist that there is a god and a true religion (i.e., Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc.), and the funny thing is they each believe that their’s is correct.

Someone who has seen no evidence of any God. It's not so much not being sure: for example, do you believe or disbelieve in the purple grommidian thrangsnaker? It really isn't a relevant question absent any indication of its existence...
And in response to the "fool with doubts" post below, is that as opposed to the "certain fool" of a Christian?
