The brown shelled eggs are exactly the same as the white shelled. If chickens are allowed to run loose in the barnyard, they sometimes will eat certain insects or worms that put pigment into their system that turns the shells brown. The eggs are no different. I grew up on a farm, and the eggs would all be brown at certain times of the year when certain insects were active. Go ahead and eat them. Nothing wrong with them, and they are no more natural than any other egg. That kind of stuff is just a gimmick.

The color of the shell doesn't affect the eggs. Eggs naturally come in a variety of colors. You shouldn't be concerned about using the brown shells.

The difference is caused by the color of the hen that lays the egg. White hen lay white eggs and red hens lay brown eggs. It is rumored that the brown eggs have higher omega 3 levels but that could also be from the hens diet.

KitKats answer is correct. And as far as them being harder to shell, color has no impact on that. The fresher the egg the harder it is to peel. I've lived on a farm most of my life and if you use eggs that are just a few days old they just don't peel good.

yes, the color of the shell makes no difference to the actual composition of the egg... we used to raise chickens and depending on the breed of chicken whether you get white or brown shelled...
