The simplest explanation: Apologetics is all about making excuses and devising faux logic to explain the inaccuracies found in holy texts.

Example:
Abe: If God created the earth 6,000 years ago and light travels at a fixed speed then how can we be seeing light from stars 3 million light years away?

Joe: Easy. God created the light IN TRANSIT.

Apologetics is the practice of defending the Christian faith against those who raise objections to its validity.

We are commanded to be apologists (those who defend the faith) in 1 Pet. 3:15 - ". . . always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you. . . "

In Christian Apologetics the beliefs of the Christian faith are made logically usually with biblical and historical references to back up the explanation.

One may challenge a Christian belief about salvation or the trinity,
and it is the Apologist who defends the practice of those beliefs.

Apologetics is the systematic defense of an argued or held position. So Christian apologetics is the verbal and written defense of christianity against those who seek to argue against it.

By "Apologetics" do you mean "apologists"?

An apologist is someone who takes the defence position to a certain issue or argument.

I am not sure what an Apolegetic would be, with the word being used as a noun. You could look it up in a dictionary such as the Oxford English Dictionary. This dictionary tends to be quite thorough, but I do not have one handy.

I believe it is scientific or logical reasons we believe what the Bible says is true. For example, babies are born without clotting factors. They only develop them on the 8th day sufficiently enough to form a clot on a wound. If the Israelites had circumcized a baby boy on any day before the 8th he would have bled to death. How did the Israelites know this unless God told them? That is an example of apologetics.

Preaching only good things and leaving out the bad. This is what satan would have one to do, that way everyone will think they are fine until they stand before the Almighty God on Judgement Day. My suggestion: Stay as far away for this kind of junk as you can get.

1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you.
1Pe 3:16 But with modesty and fear, having a good conscience: that whereas they speak evil of you, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
