A lot depends on where you will be sailing and what type of sailing.
Tropics, cool or cold water? Gunkholing or blue water.
I was in the Pacific off of Panama in February and I needed long johns at night to stay warm because of the cold water current we were in.
Ask the skipper for suggestions, but I would suggest layers and some good foul weather gear with boots. Once clothes get wet, it is difficult to dry them (particularly if it is salt water) (or unless you are on a boat with a washer/dryer setup. Have loose fitting light colored long sleeves and pants for sun protection.
Sun block and hat with a leash to keep it from getting blown overboard and SUNGLASSES. A lot of light reflects off the water. Sunburn relief ointment.
I am assuming the boat is equiped with an emergency first aid kit and we are only considering personal medications. If you are on any prescriptions, bring them, and extra, particularly if they are life critical.
Medicine for seasickness. Not sure what is best, but being seasick is extremely uncomfortable and debilitating.
Where are you sailing? For some parts of the world you need to have vaccinations and should take medicine to prevent things like malaria. Are biting insects going to be an issue?
Are you going to be going ashore in places where you might need to dress up? If not, leave the fancy duds home.
Some books to read and a deck of cards. A cd, dvd player or laptop; ipod/personal radio for personal entertainment.
Bring a camera and a notebook or something else to write in.
Bring money.
For certain parts of the world fins, mask and snorkel are a great way to enjoy the underwater wonders. It is nice to have a rash guard and/or body skin for warm water and wetsuit for colder water.
This is by no means a complete list, but should be good for a start.

That depends if it is your boat, and where it is to be sailed. Of course the sailboat needs to be equipped with an anchor, ship to shore radio, flashlights, spare bulbs and batteries, and a good first aid kit.
One very important thing not to forget with your personal gear is sunblock. I would bring sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat. Also maybe a windbreaker for the cool breezes. Always remember to be safe with the weather and don't take chances. You will always remember something later you should like to have brought, but hopefully it is a minor problem. Hope this helps!

Four premier steamer trunks, two brass Coleman lanterns, a violin case bar, an umbrella, a portable putting green, A shaving kit, and a world band radio. They will all come in handy if the ship goes down in a storm.

i'm assuming then you're taking something like the thomson red sea magic cruise. the hardship with this cruise is besides the very incontrovertible fact that you sail to the nearest aspect to the city's in question it remains a added 2 hour coach vacation to cairo or about 3 hours to luxor. you've couple of minutes there till now you've the same vacation decrease back again. You ask if there is an option. properly you may probably get off the boat and organize the same vacation in a taxi on your selves that may probably be more cost-effective. yet you nonetheless have the lengthy vacation and also you'd be vacationing in an section taxi no longer the most gentle vacation for one of those lengthy distance or the most good. perfect contained locally port is probably to be proscribing besides. To be hardship-free i could recommend you imagine about spending you money on the vacation to petra and staying on the deliver for something else of the time playing the community markets and do go snorkeling in sharm or diving. Then next vacation take a nile cruise and stay in luxor or cairo besides for a lengthy time period. you'll then get to be certain all the astounding web content and they are surprising, without the brilliant soreness of lengthy journeys. and also you'll spend for all time you want seeing what you want and in no way dashing in one of those vacationer buses which also bore you inflexible by ability of taking you to papyrus museums (vacationer papyrus shops) body spray factories (egyptian body spray shops the position you need to purchase overpriced scents that scent no longer something like the renowned names they insist they are) and evidently the ever-present alabaster factories the position 1/2 a dozen adult adult males sit down round outdoors pretending to sculpt alabaster..... they in no way surely make something there. Watch them and note. despite the indisputable fact that in case you want to be certain slightly of historic egypt your decision is as follows. Cairo to be certain the pyramids and the museum you receives about an hour in each position. I surely have spent complete days contained in the museum and considered in easy words 1/2 of it. i'm able to also spend all day around the pyramids yet i'm loopy about the difficulty. Luxor you'll see the valley of the kings and three tombs. probably Hatsheput's temple, about an hours visit and perchance karnak temple. those are the severe lighting fixtures of luxor yet there is so very significantly better to be certain. desire that permits
