If you do not know when life begins. If it has not been scientifically proven when it has soul and becomes life then how can you be sure it is not murder? Or do you even believe humans have souls?

DNA testing proves that after conception the growing human persons DNA is different from either parent.

Life begins at conception. We all developed from this starting point.

Blacks were considered non-humans as well by law. That has shown the ignorance of civil laws.

Abortion is the murder of innocent human life.

I do not feel abortion is murder. I feel it more of a sin to bring a child in this world that is unwanted. He/she might live in poverty and drugs as a daily routine. He/she could be born addicted to drugs. He/she could be abused both sexually and verbally from the day they are born. The mother could be so young that she quits school and lives in squalor with a guy that does not want her or the baby, it's only a matter of time before he leaves and does not return. The baby could be left alone while the mother goes out at night.

I could go on, but I won't. I believe all humans have souls. There is no doubt about that. That is why I believe that a soul should not be forced to live the life of something lower than a rat because the mother did not believe in abortion. To me, she is saving the life and the soul of this child that did not ask to be born into hell.

The question is misrepresented in our society. It's not about whether there is or isn't life ... there is life. Bacteria are alive ... algea are alive.

The question should be ... when does a fetus represent a distinct human for moral and legal purposes. If we look at the situation carefully, one could argue the fetus to be considered PART OF the mother. And we wouldn't accuse someone who cut off their own hand to be guilty of murder.

The situation is very complicated and difficult ... but the loud-speaking individuals from both camps turn the situation into childish "bumper sticker" debates ... you're either for or against. If you're for, you're a murderer ... if you're against, you're violating individual rights of choice.

Truth is, neither of these extremes work very well in practice. When we get beyond all the name calling and baseless accusations ... then perhaps we'll start to form a viable solution.

Having carried a child to full term, I can tell you I felt...and knew he was alive. I knew right away I was pregnant, I watched my body change and could see the outline of my child's foot as he would stretch in my womb. Yep, not a doubt in my mind that only the living grows...yes, abortion is murder. After my sis, had an abortion...it took her years to get over, and later when she DID have her first child, she knew right then that she had taken the future of her first child. The weight of it did hit her. She still can't talk about it. Consider the residual effects of what you are willing to live with. There are places that can help you and remember, you are here because your mother chose to have you.

Nope: it's not murder. You are depending upon a couple of presumptions there: first of all, that a soul esists; and second: that the definition of murder includes killing a soul. If you would like, feel free to come to Arizona and kill all the souls you want: there are no statutes concerning souls, just humans.

No abortion is not murder and the proof is beyond dispute for those who believe in a loving God. God uses abortion every day in the form of miscarriage. And a loving God does not "murder" in abortion. A loving God takes the soul of the fetus and protects it until it is used in another fetus or child. Only an evil god would murder in abortion.
Proof is further given by looking at how God treats an embryo in artificial insemination. The embryo is frozen but does not die. The decision to allow life or no life is made at a later date by God. Sometimes the fetus lives and at other times it is denied life. God chooses which fetus to allow to live and which to be used later. God does the same thing in the womb during fertilization. God chooses which egg to grant life and which to leave without life. There is no murder.
There is a god that believes in murder. That is the god of the pro life movement that allows for the fetus to die and for doctors to be killed. But you do not have to believe in that evil god. You may change your belief to a loving God. I personally believe in Christ as my God and he promises eternal life to those who follow his ways.

Hi Terri, this is Terry. I truely believe that life begins when the sperm meets the egg and creates the zygote. From that moment on, the zygote begins to grow and develop. It may not be a "baby" yet, but it is a "life". Only living things can grow and develop.
