Why do you believe religion still exists?

It's harder for me to believe that we don't know why we are here, or we just rot away, or never see our loved ones again(like no reason for it all happening) than to have 'faith' in God and the Bible, especially since the Bible is so right on and awesome and I admire goodness anyway.

I think you didn't word your question right. I can PROVE religion still exists. Here's what you do---Pick up a phone book----go to the yellow pages---look for CHURCHES and you will find dozens of churches listed in your phone book. Some are listed as religions (i.e. Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, etc.) others are listed as churches with their time.

I think you want to ask why do you believe Christianity still exists or why do you believe God still exists? But religion is way too easy. Too many places where people gather with the same denomination. :-)

the fact is that Religion does exist! Perhaps you should have ask Why do I believe God exist? because I have a personal relationship with him. I talk to him and he talks to me. as a matter of fact He just told me how to answer this question.

My Top Four Reasons for the Persistence of Religion (copyright pending :-) :

1) Fear of death
2) Fear of the unknown (also see 1 above)
3) Fear of social isolation (who wants to be the only one not in church on sunday morning, or the only one who doesn't do what the neighbors do)

And last but never least:
4) Greed (anything that makes so many people so emotional is certain to be profitable for somebody)
