We've been on and off for the past 9 months, and everytime we get into an argument he wants to call it quits, which frustrates me because then he come back after a few days. He doesn't trust me really, is pretty much controlling, possessive, etc.

I had been in a simular situation ours was just yelling and argueing no physical fighting. It really wears on a person and I've some last and others dwindle down. I personally surrendered and left, I was pretty hurt at first but now I'm single and verry happy with what I have done. I don't honestly that the love will ever come back with the stress of this, my suggestion would be to move on, their is greener grass on the other side, and alot less stress in the long run, good luck

Life is to short to fight all the time in any relationship. Without trust the relationship that you now have will only get worse! Find someone that you like without all the trouble that you are having now. Life is great with the right person and terrible with the wrong one. Speaking from experience, don't waste any more time,, get going and good luck!!

Yes, it can, but a relationship without any trust at all won't make it the greatest. A relationship will only last if you work on it.

Sure it will last till someone gets seriously hurt . Obviously there is no self esteem what so ever on either side, remember you can do bad all by yourself you don't need a partner to help you along.

yes, but it wont be fun making it last. if you want a real relationship, not as much fighting, there needs to be trust.

No chance, trust must be there or more fights will develop.
