the h.m.s. hood before it was sunk by my personal favorite ship the bismark.

For Famous the Hood, For renown The Prince of Wales, possibly HMS Prince George 5.

But over all I still say, even at the end of WWII, HMS Victory. With the silver plank where Lord Nelson fell during the Battle of Trafalgar.

a) WWII started in 1939.
b) Destroyers and Battleships are only similar in that neither look more like Submarines or Carriers.

Aside from the Hood, the "Prince of Wales" was launched in 1939 and sunk by the Japanese shortly after Pearl Harbor.

It was the H.M.S Prince of wales, the Hood was sunk at the beginning of the war. The prince of wales actually helped in sinking the bismark.

I think it would be HMS Hood, sunk by the Germans on the Bismarck.
