You're the smartest 13 year old I know.
I know what you mean...but look at our schools. They're horrible. Do you expect a person's grammar and syntax on the Internet to be any better than in real life? Think about it...how do you get through to people who can't even spell 'stupid'??

Im 59. When I went to school, marks were taken off exams for incorrect spelling.
Spelling just isnt important anymore. It's not part of the cirriculum anymore............as long as it sort of looks like the word, it's acceptable.
Now we have computers...........need I say more?
With all the "bbl" "ttyl" "lol" "pos" and such, who needs to spell?
AND there is spellcheck........Im Canadian, so I even have issues with THAT......hahaha.....
Some of us enjoy language, some of us can't be bothered thinking that much about it and just want a quick result.....ASL?
I think it's insane, but then, I love language.
I also think we connect more with others who think the same way, which is why I am answering your query......smiles....

People like to keep it short. I can see what you mean about the grammar. It's because they are lazy typers.
Your writing is good for 13. Though you must also know that your spelling needs some work , too...
Unless you were like some other people who just type fast and don't go back to correct.

It is annoying. It's not real difficult to download the google toobar and check spelling. Or to use the check spelling feature right here. Bad spelling and run on sentances drive me nuts.
Also, when did we replace the "S" with the letter "Z' and the letter "O" with the number "0"

I completely agree. There's even a spell check icon to the top right of the space where one can type his or her answer.

I have to agree with you, spelling and grammar are atrocious not only in this venue, but with IM and Email and texting...All you can do is try your best to set a good example.

I'm pretty sure your question/statement is a PRIME example of those that can't post literate or grammatically correct questions on Yahoo. Thanks for such a great example!

They are being "educated" in dumbed down government schools.
The quality of primary and secondary education in this country has been decreasing since the sixties.

I don't like when the entire post is abbreiviated. Case in point: n-e-wayz, ur, azz... so on and so forth. Grammar, syntax, and punctuation go a long way....

Who is teaching the kids to spell? Do they not teach it in school anymore? It drives me insane.
