What are the chances of me being able to get a $30,000 private student loan WITHOUT a co-signer if i have exactly 2 years good credit history (approx. 715 credit score), two years of stable employment, and being a U.S. Resident?

I am 20 years old, and I turn 21 in early January, 2007. I want to apply for the loan then. I really appreciate your answers!!!

If you goto www.FAFSA.ed.gov you can fill out forms that will let you know what grants and loans you qualify for. Honestly however almost anyone can qualify for a stafford loan regardless of credit. It is a government backed loan so it is easy to get. I would suggest the route before looking for private funding. However must private lenders maybe willing to make the loan if you have collateral such as a house or car to back the loan. The major factor will be income to debt ratio.

i got my student loan at 18 with out a parent if that is what your talking about and i don't think it matter what your credit i don't know but as long as you don't have another loan in default but make sure you look in to the school don't take out more than you need because it sound good at first they will offer you extra money and it sound great then you wind up paying and interest oh my god interest on a school loan is worst than a credit card it awfull so please check in to the school take out just what you need and try for grants to help if you can and you should have no problem getting a school loan like i said i was 18 when i got my first school loan i have been lucky and been getting grants and other money so i haven't had to have another loan because payment on my school loan right now is about 125.00 and about 50.00 that seem to go just to inerest.

you'll probably be able to get it, but the interest rate will be higher w/o a cosignor. For example, I just took out my third private loan. Balance of 8000 with an interest rate of 14.5%. This is higher than my first two loans when i was an undergrad. I had higher principles but a lower interest rate.
