Well, there are eight fluid ounces in a cup, so there are ten fluid ounces in 1 1/4 cup. The easy way to remember is that it is binary: you can halve and halve and halve.

8 ounce in one cup so , 8 ounces, the 4 mulitplied by 2 is 8 so 10!
