I have been seeing this guy for about a year now, and he is not someone I see as potential husband material ~

I probably would have answered this question differently when I was like 20. But now, I have learned that life is short, and that you should enjoy it, and if not always with a defined purpose, at least with a direction. So, if this guy is not headed the direction you are, then maybe it is time to explore on your own.

Heh. Sounds like we're in the same situation (it's been two years and some change, off and on). I'm still with him, though. I'm being hypocritical, but don't stay. (I know I shouldn't but I have my own much more complicated reasons for staying)

nope, you are just wasting their time and yours, and if they love you it's not fair to them. so you should just break it off ASAP
