I made sure that he was around people and other dogs and children all the time but he now hates children I really need good advise so he will grow up a great dog. Thank you for any and all help with this training problem.

He's only 4 months so I'll assume that its just play biting. Puppies do this to test the water. Unless he's been around other pups for a long time, he wont have learnt that biting hurts! The main way in which pups learn this from each other is when one bites the other, that dog will sqeak. So next time he bites you, make a really loud (loud as you can!) high squeak sound and jump quickly. Do this every time he bites you. As for the barking, sounds like he's very clever and he knows you eat out of his paw when he barks for you. Try giving him attention when he's quiet, try not to give in as much to his demands.

To the people who seem to think pit bulls are the root of all evil: I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that these dogs are responsible. I've seen countless nasty, snappy labradors, yorkies, cutsie wootsie dogs that are nastier than any pit bull I've ever come across. It's the OWNERS that are in the wrong there. Thank god this owner is reponsible and wants to save their dog from accusation by people like you.

Good luck with him anyway, congrats on trying to make him a good dog :)

Watch the dog whisperer on the national geographic channel- I swear, he gives really good tips for this kind of stuff, and owns multiple pit bulls himself that all behave really well!

He has a book too, called "Cesar's Way" by Cesar Millan.

My personal advice would be to maybe get him more excercise. Maybe take him on 2 long walks a day to wear him out and then he won't be so rowdy and out of control. This is a universal concept for all dogs.

Good luck!

Why do you think they are called "pit bull dogs"? After giving your question about 3 seconds of thought and consideration, I SERIOUSLY think you need to get rid of your "bully" ASAP and get yourself a poodle. He "hates children"? You are asking for so much trouble that I suggest you hire a lawyer today and keep him/her on retainer. Get the mutt a chain and a muzzle before you give him away, even if no one besides the ASPCA will take him. You don't want the officers getting bit.

Pit Bulls are just very hyper puppies. My sisters has just started to calm down as he is reaching a year old. About not liking children, most dogs become scared of children and don't like them if there have been kids around that pull their tails or ears. This may have caused it. Just give him plenty of outdoor time and ways to get his energy out.

Your dog is full of puppy energy. He needs something to keep him occupied. Does he get as much excersise as he needs? Invest in chew toys (Kong, Nylabone) to help him with his teething urges. When he chomps you, tell him "no", and encourage him to chew on the toy, instead. Does he actually hate kids, or is he seeing them as other babies with whom he can play roughly, as he would with other pups. Children should never be left alone with any dog, let alone a bulldog. You must always remember that along with ownership of a breed like this comes great responsibility. They have high prey drives, and you have to train your pup very carefully so that he knows his toys are for chewing, not you or strangers or children. Bulldogs are wonderful, as long as their owners do the right thing.

Have him put to sleep before he kills some kid and ruins a family's life. All pit bulls are murderers at heart. It is part of their makeup and although not all kill, they all will want to eventually. Pit bulls are great dogs. But they are animals and as I said before, given the right set of circumstances, he will murder someone.

Take him to the humane society. All pit bulls, and especially yours, are dangers to society. I suggest that you get a beagle. When is the last time you heard about a beagle biting a child's face off?

Your dog needs professional training.
Get him professionally trained, and make sure that you and he can use a leash.
Never let him off the leash outside.

Always love your pit, sleep with her every night, take her everywhere, basically treat her with love all the time, and she will never bite, unless she is protecting her babies (I know from experience)
