I want to adopt a pug. I love them! I don't know when I'll be able to, but I'm trying to get as much information as I can together before I make a decision. I know about PetFinder.com, and it's my best resource so far. Is there anything else with that kind of selection out there?

http://www.pugs.org/ on the left selection bar there is a link for "Rescue" and it takes you to a page with Pug rescues by state.

You can look up breeders on www.akc.org. One way to get information and learn about breeders is to contact the nearest club for the breed as well as the nearest pug rescue (sometimes they will be one and the same). You can do a search for pug and your area and one should pop up. Don't hesitate to e-mail them with questions on the breed and on finding an ethical breeder. They should be able to point you in the right direction, and will probably know when club members will be expecting litters or if there are rescue dogs looking for homes.

Start here

www.pugs.org

then look for a local club (if you can't find one, ask the national club to give you the local contact info).
Good luck!

www.breeders.net is a great website. Gives you lots of advice on looking for a puppy and you can do searches by state to locate breeders.
