I give my cats catnip and they love it. Cats in the wild eat it two to three times a week and it helps their digestive system. The stuff you can buy at the pet store is good, but a friend of mine brought some fresh catnip still on the vine over and the cats went crazy for it.
So yes it does affect cats and in the sense of I have tried it on my cats, yes again.

Don't smoke catnip. Convince others to do it for a hilarious show.

It's only for cats. It has something in it that comes in female cats urine... so it only gets cats going... even female cats. It smells minty... but no, I didn't get high but my cats sure do freak out.
