You can see my ribs like you are inside my stomach when I breathe in hard enough, so hard it hurts, that is how underweight I am and I am worried about health problems like anorexia.

If this is a body perception thing and so you feel you would like to gain more weight, that's all that matters. Perhaps you feel you would like more weight to become more "curvy" body-wise? It's your perception that matters most in this case. So, do not feel guilty.
To gain more weight, one simply needs to exercise, eat BALANCED meals yet add more carbohydrates --like breads and pasta-- to each serving of food. However, I would check with a nutritionist before radically changing your diet.
One other word of caution: if you are very thin --to the point of frail--, you should see a doctor because this may be an underlying sympton of certain medical conditions.

Are you sure you're underweight? They say that 75% of Americans are overweight. Unless you're very , very slender I wouldn't worry about it. Guys like slender women, and you're probably the envy of most girls. Also, a lot of people tend to put on weight as they get older -- maybe a reason for your friends to worry, but not you! If you're healthy and eat a balanced diet, forget the weight.

Don't eat fatty foods to gain weight. That makes you over weight, or some heart disease when you're older. Just start working out so you build muscle mass instead of fat. Muscle weighs more than fat so you'll be ok. And eat healthy foods too. Raise your calorie intake.

Eat more fatty foods. lay around all day and do nothing for awhile. Its also possible that you have a high metabolism and don't gain weight easily. ask your doctor.

it depends. you could eat, but before i get carried away, if you are shorter than 75% of your friends you are probably good weight. But, you could eat fatty foods.

well idk. my friend says she has a skinny problem. but i gess i see right past it. we have been friends for like 3 years but i never notice things like that. u should look it up on the internet or ask ur parents.
