That is a very general question. Several factors come into play: who raised you, how did they treat you, did they bad mouth the other one when you were over? I have no advise with out knowing those facts.

If your parents got divorced when you were five, seven years from then you would be twelve and doing just fine. I was seven and it has been twenty three years, almost 24 years. I seem to be a fully functioning adult, and in all honesty, I am glad my parents didn't stay together for the kids because I think that would really have messed me up having to listen to all of the arguments, etc.

In seven years the child of the parents would be fine.
One word of advice, though: Most parents want to make the divorce as easy as possible on the children. Just remember that if anything is bothering you tell your parents. Give them the chance to try to fix what it is or else at least know its bothering you. You'll be fine.

My parents divorced when I was 11 and now I'm 35, married and have 2 daughters. I think maybe their bad relationship has helped me to be a better husband and father.

My parents divorced when i was 15 (now i'm 17) it hasn't even been 7 years, and i think that it is way much better ever since they divorce.
All my stress for them before are all much gone now.
