Ever hear a "healer" explain to a afflicted person why his/her healing didnt stick? Its usually stuff like "you didnt sincerely believe" or "your heart wasnt open" or worse!

Ok, go ahead, give me those same cliches. I did seek God honestly, and I still do, and I still hear and feel nothing I can fairly distinguish from normal human experience.

I wont dimish God to some pathetic game of reading the "tea leaves"...thats always so selective to if you notice...people always read the tea leaves for God in the way they want to find him.

Go ahead, tell me how you found him...gush with your imagined relationship...i have knoe hundreds with this claim and found none authentic.

Can God really be offended by my honestly on the subject? Maybe if God exists he is refreshed with my honesty as opposed to the billions that gush on about this imagined relationship...imagine being God and thinking "where did you get that one buddy....i said no such thing idiot".

Im not going to talk to you like a 5 yr old, but hostility and anger do play a big part in "hearing" from God. You might want to pray and God send a rainbow into your room and hear a loud booming voice saying "I am here my child" and I guess we all would. I believe you are searching, and if you really are searching whole heartedly, try the approach without anger. People don't generally have imagined experiences with God. There are some yes, who make claims for show but not the majority. Honestly, try it without the hostility, without a "prove it" attitude. Because when we get like that, we wouldnt even believe the rainbow and giant booming voice. Don't listen to the testimony of someone and say "oh yeah right" instead, look further into it. You dont have to believe the story but dont just throw it out because you didn't see it. When we drop the deffenses and honestly allow God in, He comes without fail.

Your question doesn`t prove that God rejected a sincere relationship with you. Things take time, I think it`s good that you are asking the questions just make sure your heart is pure when asking. You should also be aware that you may get something you aren`t expecting, and that when the answer comes to you that you don`t reject it.
This could take years and I think that the only way to have a good understanding is by asking the questions you have and not be deceived with blind faith. The main reason that I am where I am today spiritually was because I had question and I got logical answers.....

"Question, even the existence of God, because if indeed he does exist, he would appreciate the homage of reason, rather than that of blindfolded fear"

How did I find God? It was through a very nice old biology teacher. She tought me about the Occult, about God. I denied it the entire time, but eventually what she said had proven to be true in some form or another. I personally believe there is a God, otherwise I would have remained suffering without knowing Master Greene. I do not care if you think this story is another fabrication of knowing God. It is my truth the way I know it. What others say and believe about how they met God is entirely up to them. So I ask of you to do one thing, not for me but in the persuit of truth for yourself. ask yourself "Why did God reject relationship with me when i sincerely sought him?". I ask you to do this becuase no matter what is said here, your question will remain becuase only your truth, the way you know it, can answer this question for you.

I found God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit when I was willing to open my heart, my spirit and my soul to Him. God is never offended by honesty just lies. I am so sorry that you did not find the relationship that you searched for. Love is the keyword here, He is not guaranteeing you a lot in life that you are going to be extremely rich, or great in power. He is guaranteeing you peace in your mind and joy in your soul. To many look for the physical things from Jesus and refuse to search for the spiritual. They see the marvelous works of the fishes and loaves, greed gets the better of them. This is not what Jesus is all about.Jesus had compassion, He instills love in us, more than an earthly love but a love that is radiant. You don't need tea leaves for that just faith.

Wow! I wish a fraction of the Christians that I know were as passionate as you are in their searching after God. Don't be too impatient. I have never seen anyone that shows the yearning towards The Father to the degree that you do be denied His love.

In your case, because of the extent of the hurt and cynicism; as it was with me, He will probably show up in a very tangible way.
There's no sense talking about it a lot now. Hold on and get ready for the ride of your life!

You are so right. God is pleased with honesty. I am the same way at times, and quite frankly if my kids told me the same things I say to Him, I'd be offended. But - the truth is, that God already knows what I am thinking/ saying anyway, so by not being totally honest, I am only lying to myself. Sometimes I think He is sickened by people who go around calling themselves by His name, and they don't even try to do what He said-- "Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did." (1 John 1:6) They want God to fit into the box that they have made for Him and take Him out only when they need something.
I had a dream once, that meant that if I would "get real" with God, then He would move on my behalf. (And - I thought I was being real with Him, but a lot of times we are pretentious. He sees the heart.) By getting real I think it meant - taking away all those things that come between us, that distract us from hearing His voice/ feeling His presence. Sometimes this "earth- life" is "talking" so loud, that I have a hard time hearing Him.
As soon as I read your question, a verse that I like came into my head. It is 1Kings 19:11-18ish.
'The Lord said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by. Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here,Elijah?"
He replied, "I have been very zealous for the Lord..." ' (talks about Israels rejection of God and how he was the only prophet left and they were trying to kill him...) ' The Lord said unto him..."Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel -- all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him." ' (Baal was a false god, and I skipped places with ...'s.)
There were lots of things that lots of people would have rushed out and said, "That is God," but Elijah recognized Gods voice.
Anyway, hearing God's voice can be many ways to different people, but if you are patient, you will hear. He promised that those who earnestly seek Him will find Him, and He cannot lie. I can't tell you a certain time that He suddenly just appeared to me, and magically, I heard His voice. It was more a knowing, even as a very young child, that there was something more, something missing, and then when - on faith, never having heard His voice- I asked Him to be my Savior, I knew that I could never go back to the "without Him" place in my life. He is more a Presence that you will definitely know. And when He not there, you will always have a hole that crys out for filling.
I think though that a lot of times He is there, waiting for us to call out to Him, we just don't recognize Him. We may write it off as something ordinary, when in fact, God sent the thing to you. Ask Him to help you recognize Him. A quote from Pearl Bailey-- "People see God every day, they just don't recognize Him." May you find His Peace.

There's a book you may find interesting titled "The Sacred Romance" by John Eldridge and someone else. It may give you some answers with regard to your current predicament. It tells about how God uses circumstances and people in our life to "woo" us to Him. It's quite an easy read and there are a few others by John Eldridge that you'll probably enjoy as well... Definitely worth the money... Check it out...

I would seriously question your sincereity. You say you sought God. How long did you seek him? A day? A week? A month? A year? 10 years? How long? Jesus says, "seek and you will find, ask and you will be answered, knock and the door will be opened for you." How long did you knock?

Maybe you didn't come to him in humility. I don't know, that's between you and God.

Does god have to make him self visible for you to believe in him. Many people in the bible sought after God and his will with very few actually seeing him. Have you ever thought that you are searching to hard.
If you believe what the Bible says- God is everywhere. You have been seeking him in the extraordinary, but have you thought about the ordinary. God could be right next to you, but you are to busy looking at the horizon to notice that he is standing right beside you.

Love is patient. Are you patient enough to wait on God? You say that you seek God, but do you trust Him? If you trust Him, then why did you post this? God is in control of everything, and who says that the world is everything good? If God wants you to share a deeper joy with Him... being in His heaven... why will you reject?

God loves you so much, He would let you decide whether to give up, or to give it all. Do you choose to give up on God? Or do you choose to give it all to God?

If God was a movie director and your life was the movie. Wouldn't he know everything that'll happen in your life because he is the one who made it? What if you were watching the movie and so worried and thought the director was a bad director but then, the movie turned out as a good movie but you were so scared you left the theater before the good parts.

My friend, let us not be impatient with God. Give it to God and don't expect God to give everything to you. Your life is a test. It may end soon, it may be long. Just let God be in control. The book of Hebrews tells us that God is above everything, He made everything, and God is above every angel. God is above you and this world. May God bless you.
