How will Amnesty help America? If their is not a fence, more will come! Will these legalized people vote for open border reps in office? Will they vote for their people just because they are from their race? Do all illegals work once they realize they don't have too?

Micheal Savage argued that for every man you see picking the strawberries, there are several people--extended relatives-- attached who abuse our system. They'd take advantage of being citizens without giving much back as a group. Then we will have another impoverished group like the blacks, poor not because of me, but because they don't want to pull themselves up and live the American dream. In reality, they are Mexicans by heart with little desire to become an American citizen. A survey was once taken of children of illegals in which the majority of kids say that they think of themselves as Mexicans--not Americans.

We are already paying for the illegal's kids' education (and they are learning Spanish instead of English, from what I hear), health care ( the first thing mothers requested upon being sent to an American hospital), If made legal, or given duel citizenships, they will be voting more, etc, etc. We don't need foreign citizens that one country dumps on our laps. Many of them aren't the type who really want to be Americans.

While I know a lot of illegals, both here and in Mexico when they visit their families, I know of no male illegals who come here with the plan of drawing welfare. That seems to be the function of a small number of the women illegals.

Note that the illegals will not be able to vote for anyone for years to come, unless the Democrats help them vote illegally. The Bush plan that made people so angry would not in most cases have them voting for almost 17 years.

I simply do not understand the debate at all. There are 7 million illegal Mexicans, and 4 million others. They are here. And if anyone thinks a couple million who were brought here as kids, in many cases did not want to come, but now have married and have kids born here, are going to peacefully walk across the border because the Nazi branch of my Republican party tells them too, hey, I have a really big bridge in Brooklyn for sale, really cheap.

I don't know if any of you have had contact with the INS, but I guarantee you most illegals are simply not going back, because no matter what our new laws might promise them, they well know most of them will never get papers from the INS. It is just about the most vicious and stupid government agency we have, and I say that with full memory of the IRS.

They do stupid things like this. I know of a student in another country who wished to visit as a student for a short time. They gave him a form in English. While he spoke considerable English, there was a question in English he did not fully understand? "Do you plan to immigrate to the US?"

He thought that meant did he want to come here for his visit. That isn't what it means. They are looking for people who might decide to out-stay their visa, as if they are going to admit it!

So, when he said, yes, they rejected his visitor's visa, and marked his name down as admitted wanting to become an illegal, and he is permanently blacklisted. As long as those fools are in charge, he will never get to visit.

Read the autobiography of Maria Von Trapp, the real person behind THE SOUND OF MUSIC. That happened to her, and it took a friend who was a US Senator to get her off Ellis Island.

That crap happens every day. I had an Internet friend in Las Vegas. She came legally. After a year of two, she wanted her mom to come and see where she lives. The dirty criminal! How dare a Mexican want her mom to visit her in her home? So, in the end, they had to drive a great distance to the border to visit her mom on the Mexican side of the border, and she had to take a bus to the border to see them.

After 50 years of this insanity, the Mexicans have developed pure contempt for the INS, so they simply don't waste half a weeks pay for an application that is going to be rejected by a mindless, stupid idiot. It has been our choice through our mindless bureaucrats to create pure contempt for our immigration laws.

I have thought up an appropriate name for any wall we build. It is a weird name, but it grows on you. My idea:

THE IRON CURTAIN

Go back to England? We are all illegal ? No there were no illegal immigration when my fore fathers came to this land, they came not knowing what lay beyond the horizon. They settled here carved out a place and worked hard.My ancestors were not illegal in any way shape or form, there were no laws back then because to settle here was dangerous and filled with strife.Brave pioneers in a new country.
But we do have laws now and that law states that you must not cross our boarder without the proper documentation, legal documentation. Simple not complicated in the least ,I am not against immigration, only those sneaking in and then demanding we allow them to break our laws .

illegals would pay taxes like any other american. They would also get more benefits also. Mexicans and other hispanics would also start seeking for better jobs and education... but of course there has to be a fence.. amnesty isn't going to get rid of a border.

Projected costs of amnesty for illegals is upwards of 500 billion dollars...it is financially unsound to do such a thing.

They would lose their jobs, to be replaced with different illegals. The Problem is the employers, not the illegal scum.

Nope, they would start being paid minimum wage, then they would probabbly start complaining about that, and we would still be paying for them to live so not much would change.
