No they are two different branches of the armed forces along with the Air Force and The Marines

No. The Army is primarily land based (although they do have an air wing, and occasionally use boats in the field) While the Navy is primarily Sea based, with the majority of its personnel on ships. The Navy also has an air wing, and people who work at various bases and ports around the world. The Navy also provides all the medical support to the Marine Corps.

The Army and Navy are two of the four branches working to protect the United States. The other two brances being the Coast Guard, and the Marine Corps.

Within the branches there are active duty personnel and reserve personnel. They all have their benefits and weaknesses. If you are considering joining the military and are torn between the Army and Navy, you might consider the Marine Corps.

I would highly recommend taking some time to talk to the various recruiters, they will give you all the info you're looking for, just be sure you don't sign anything until you've made a decision. Military life is very different than civilian life, but it is a very good experience. Personally I think everyone should experience it.

If you are considering joining the armed forces, let me be the first to tell you how proud that makes me, a former United States Marine. Good luck, and hope this helped a little.

I'm ex-Army and i can tell you it is definitely NOT THE SAME for one thing the Army is more focused on land missions, recons and force protection....it also works closely with the Air force when deployed because we share similarities....the Navy is air and sea they work closely with the Marines.
