The American Red Cross accepts people with a tattoo if 1) it has been more than 1 year since getting the tattoo OR 2) you received the tattoo in a State where it is licensed. Would you like to sign up for the blood drive I am coordinating for this Thursday between 7 am and 5 pm? I'd love to have you donate!

yes and no. There are certain guidelines that different companies have but the general rule is if you got a tattoo, you can't donate blood for at least 6-12 months. This is due to the fact that the needle used for the tattoo might be contaminated.

They usually make you wait around 6 months before you can donate if you have just gotten a tattoo or a piercing. It has nothing to do with the ink....it's because you could have contracted hepatitis C or HIV Call the blood bank or Red Cross and they will tell you
