I totally hate my ex boyfriend. He is a lying, cheating, prick who is garbage. During the course of our two year relationship I found out that he was did nothing but cheat and lie. Unfortunately during a struggling time in my life I borrowed money from him. He has on occasion asked me for the money and I gave him parts of it here and there but it isn't paid off. He hasn't asked me for it YET but I know he will. I honestly think he should kiss my behind, but I need advice from a level headed person. Yes I know the right thing to do would be to give him the money to be rid of him BUT after what he just put me through I don't want him to have one RED sent. He can harass me all he wants and I don't think I'm going to budge.

Pay him the money and get it over with. Set up a payment schedule if you have to. Yes, he is a liar, a cheat, and a scumbag, but that does not terminate your obligation to pay. Better to get it done and have NO reason to have any contact with him. If you just skip out on paying him, you would always have this in the back of your mind, he will continue to contact you, and you will not be able to move on. You also don't want to get hauled into small claims court or on Judge Judy. Either of those would be more embarrassing than having everyone know he cheated on you. Pay up, chalk the relationship up to bad judgment and move on to a good, decent man that will care for you the way you care for him. Good luck.

And I totally agree with the answer that say to pay him in unrolled pennies.

Above all, remember that you DO owe this money. Also remember, what goes around, comes around, and it usually hits much harder the second time around. Pay him as quickly as you can, always have the class to fulfill your obligations, even if he doesn't. You'll be a better person, and will always be able to remember that you acted appropriately. Also, remember, after he is paid off, you are totally rid of him and the situation. Do the right thing, and then be done, and move on. Good luck!

By all means, why should you pay the man, especially after all the pain that he put you through. I wouldn't. Actually, I have been in sort of a similiar situation like that, so I know where you are coming from. And if he keeps harassing you about it, tell him that you are going to call the cops or something, and I am sure that he will you alone then. Nobody likes the deal with the police. Paybacks are a b****. Karma says what comes around goes around. You stick to your guns.

Legally and morally you owe him the money. Just because he's scum doesn't mean you have to be one. Do the right thing and move on and dont' blindly like someone again. Make him accountable by not hiding his life from you and get someone that will treat you with respect and kindness.

We all deserve that. Good luck and pay him back; you'll feel better about yourself by showing class and doing the right thing.

You have a great opportunity with the next guy if you choose correctly!

Yes, right thing to do would be to give him the money, but I agree w/ Paul C... ...

He'll think twice before screwing over anyone else!

As a matter of fact, send him a check for $10 & in the memo field write "paid in full".. He may try to take you to court & sue you, BUT if he does what i think he will, he'll cash that check which now confirms that by law he agrees this is the final amount owed & you're off the hook! - LOL!!!

I went through a similar experience, and I too hated my ex. But truth is, you have to be the better person. Do not bring yourself down to his level. He was kind enough to help you through a rough time, you should be kind enough to pay the money back. If you don't feel like seeing or talking to him, send the money order through the mail. Or you can do a funds transfer from your bank to his.

Regardless of your past, this should not be a reason to not pay someone what you owe them, and at the time promised to pay them back.

Pay him back, and make it clear that you now have no further attachments or obligations to him, and you therefore do not want to ever have contact with him again.

Well, I would give the money back - but only because I wouldn't want to end up getting sued. How much money was it?
