My husband is active duty Army and we will be stationed at Ft Shafter in December 2006. Does anyone know what the housing is like in this area? I know we can live on Ft Shafter or on AMR East or West, but I have heard really bad things about all of these area.... HELP! I need some guidance!

To the lady who talked about AF family who lives HI -AF housing and Army housing are two entirely different animals.
AF is the show dog of the DOD, so they get all this extra $$ for housing. Army uses their money to teach soldiers to stay alive.
