What is the best way to avoid family functions without hurting someone's feelings?

I think somebody's feeling will always be hurt if you avoid family functions. So if the family functions are that bad (which I know they can be) don't worry about others' feelings. If you can stand to go, just stay a short while and leave.

There isn't a best way to ad void it because once you made an excuse or an attempt to avoid them. They'll catch on that you don't want to be involve in their functions. People will think you dislike them and want to separated from them. Unless that's what you want.

I think the best way is to enjoy those functions and embrace it. I mean they are your families and they don't invite you on of torment. Also you don't have to attend every single one. You can be very polite and say "Thanks so much for inviting me, but I'm not going to be able to make it." hope that help ma'am.

Why do you want to avoid family functions? Has someone hurt your feelings? If you are lucky enough to have family members who care about you, of course you will hurt their feelings. Are you sure you want to do that?
